Vehicle Detail
I started gathering parts do build a Hybrid Z using an early 260Z and Chevy V8. I chose the early 260 since it was carburated and not as sought after as a 240z. The idea was to build an all around race car, that wouldn't be driven on the street. This car has no title, which didn't bother me because of the intentions of being a track car. The car is really straight, the previous owner took it all apart to paint and do the body work, then lost interest. It's painted, but he then rolled it outside and left it, so it's go bumps and bruises and is not perfect. It will need some patch work in the floors. I have all the glass, minus a windshield. There are no bumpers. I do have most of the interior, including a decent set of seats... not perfect, but something to work with. The car is sitting on early American Racing Torque Thrust 14 inch wheels, try to find a set of these! I'm also including the Chevy V8 swap motor mounts, 2 transmission mounts (one for turbo 350, one for 700r4), the driveshaft for a 700r4 that's allready been cut down and will bolt to Z rearend. (This motor mount set, 700r4 mount and driveshaft have all been bolted up). I've also got the complete rearend out of a newer 280Z with the r200 differential that has 3:54 gears in it. I'm throwing in a Jags that run V8 swap radiator, although it dosen't leak, it is not perfect. Someone just needs to take and ice pick and straighten out the cooling fins...takes a lot of time, but is really easy. With the radiator, there's also an electric fan. The car also has new struts all the way around. This is a great start to building a V8 powered Datsun, I picked up a Z28 and now I've just lost interest in it and it's taking up space in my shop. Bid first, bid to own, ask questions if you need to! NO RESERVE!! Oh ya, there's also a set of block hugger headers with it. The starting price is less than you could buy the swap stuff for!
