Selling Another Classic European Sports Car I have been a classic car enthusiast for 9 years buying mostly Porsches Mercedes and BMW’s because in my opinion, nothing compares to German engineering. I have also helped several international buyers locate, purchase, and export these beautiful cars back to their place of origin for private collection therefore I accept and welcome bidders from around the world. Some vehicles I sell are my personal cars, others are ones that I am listing on behalf of others, but I always drive the cars and describe them to the best of my ability. Prior to bidding on any of my vehicles, please make sure to ask any questions as your bid is a binding contract stating that you accept the car in AS IS condition. All sales are final- I simply will not put up with anyone who is just shopping or wasting time. IF YOU DO NOT HAVE FUNDS READY TO MAKE FULL PAYMENT WITHIN 7 DAYS PER AUCTION TERMS DO NOT BID. I know that most ebayers and classic car collectors are stand-up people but there are a few out there who simply should not be buying cars online. I do my best to describe the cars as they are in my opinion but in order to make sure that the cars are up to your standards it is your responsibility to inspect the car in person or have your assigned agent inspect the car, otherwise you are buying the car based on my opinion only- I am not a certified car inspector or mechanic- just an enthusiast that has been around a lot of classic cars. That disclaimer being stated, here is the description I offer for this particular car: Per verbal history and what I can see this beautiful 1980 Porsche 911 SC Targa was originally sold by Heitz Porsche in Germany where the car was maintained and owned up to the point when it was imported into the USA by Shirley Pinches on May 22nd, 1985. The car was owned by a physician in a resort town in Colorado until 1998 when it was purchased by an enthusiast from Utah where it has been since then. It has only had 10K miles or so put on it over the last 13 years. This car comes with some recent receipts for service work, the original german owners manual, USA owners manual in english, original tool kit, bra, dust cover, and some other unique german documents and miscellaneous paperwork. My overall assessment is that this car is in extremely good condition as it has mostly been a garage queen. It runs and drives very well and the motor runs incredibly strong. It passed safety and emissions inspections here in Utah just last week. This car has a NADA classic car value of between $17,700 and $26,900 which does not factor that it is a Euro model (http://www.nadaguides.com/Classic-Cars/1980/Porsche/911SC/Targa-2-Door-Coupe/Values)-- that being said I think it is fair to assume that someone would list this car for sale at around $26,000 on Auto Trader or some other retail listing service. This car will sell to the highest bidder- I believe that value is determined by what people are willing to pay for a car which is why I list cars at NO RESERVE. As mentioned this car is in excellent condition across the board- below is my very detailed an honest description of this car. Most people would just say “excellent condition” and not give all the details but I try to include everything, good and bad. Cosmetically this car is arguably the nicest SC I have seen in Utah. The seats have no tears, the carpets are clean with average wear, the dash is in tact without cracks, and there are no major interior flaws I can complain about. It was a non smoker so there are no foul smells and all the blowers and controls seem to work properly. The paint is the original color and looks to have one professional respray leaving it with a beautiful finish. There are only a few very small rock chips- the car is almost flawless and the paint is very unique and a rare color that I really like, code 265 OAK GREEN METALLIC. The wheels are free of road rash and the tires have decent tread with two newer tires. The targa top is in great condition and comes on and off as it should. The body is also almost perfect- maybe one or two small dings that you would have to get in the right light to even see--a very straight and true body. There is no rust- all the pans are solid including the battery housing and front clip. Mechanically the car is solid. This beauty starts right up and runs/sounds clean and strong and does not smoke. This car just passed Utah Safety and Emissions inspection. It looks to have all the key updates recommended for this year model. The brakes are solid having recently been redone and the suspension feels good. The car could benefit from an alignment as it has a slight vibration right at 65 mph that goes away around 75 mph. After a strong drive this car will drop one or two very small oil spots as is more the rule than the exception with classic 911s. I always plan on them leaking and have oil proofed my garage with drip pads as it seems to be something that just comes with the territory with a 30 year old car. Anyone who claims to have a 911 that does not leak oil is probably not telling the whole story. The AC components are all there and the previous owner says it works as good as a Porsche AC can. It has not been hot here (we had snow this week) so I cannot verify how well the system works but all components look to function as they should. In summary, this is a hard to find Euro model SC with a rare paint color that is in excellent mechanical and cosmetic condition. I really like the color combo and attention this car gets from anyone who sees it. It would make a great collector car that still has a lot of life left in it. Feel free to ask questions prior to bidding. I can provide a reference for arranging very affordable transportation for this car to any state or port in the USA. TERMS: A NON REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT VIA PAYPAL OF $700 DUE WITHIN 48 HOURS OF AUCTION’S END FULL PAYMENT OR PROOF OF WIRE TRANSFER IS DUE WITHIN 7 DAYS OF AUCTION’S END SALE IS FINAL ONCE ANY CAR IS PICKED UP OR ACCEPTED BY BUYER OR BUYER’S AGENTOn Apr-17-11 at 20:13:49 PDT, seller added the following information: The listing features show "automatic transmission" which as you can see is not correct. This is indeed a manual transmission- a simple listing error. Thanks! On Apr-24-11 at 08:37:23 PDT, seller added the following information: Motor Number is 6304224 which correctly matches the range for a 1980 Euro Model SC
