Vehicle Detail
This is now a no reserve auction! Here is your chance to own a very nice but drivable and more desirable Lincoln Mark VI Signature Series sedan. This car is what became the Lincoln Town Car in 1984. This particular car is from the estate of a very popular member of LCOC and has been babied for the past 10 years or so. It's a striking Silver color over blue leather interior. It features the 5.0 engine with throttle body fuel injection (CFI), automatic overdrive, power everything, auto dim headlights, flawless silver vinyl roof, factory power moonroof, and all of the standard creature comforts of the Signature Series. I'll take you through this car, as I've looked it over very well on my lift and driven it a couple of hundred miles. Mechanical The engine runs very well, I gave it a fresh set of plugs and wires, fuel filter, air filter, new belts and changed all of the fluids. I also cleaned the throttle body. The car runs great and has zero mechanical issues with the engine, brakes, transmission or suspension. The car had sat for about a year when I got it so I took my time to get it fired up, the more I drive it, the better it runs. A/C was converted to R-134A and it will freeze you out. It has a very small exhaust leak when cold which disappears when warm. Exterior Shortly before I got the car, something fell on the hood and passenger front fender extension. I had the hood repainted and the fender extension replaced. It looks very good but the pinstripe is a little different on the extension. The original extension is included so it can be duplicated or redone to correct standards. The is a small dent to the left of the Lincoln hood ornament on the grill. The rest of the car is in great condition, no signs of accident damage, no rust, and still shines like new. The chrome is still very nice and the vinyl roof is perfect. Interior Front seats are just showing some signs of minor cracking and aging. The carpet, headliner, door panels and dash are in great condition. The original and very rare electronic single DIN stereo with 8 track player works perfect and the premium sound option sounds good. All electric windows work perfectly, moonroof is perfect and doesn't leak, power locks work perfect, the drivers power seat "front tilt" feature works when it wants to but all other seat functions work on both driver and passenger. The power antenna motor works but the cable for the mast is stripped out, it will go up and down with a little help. The tripminder dash is one of the first digital dashes in US production cars, works flawlessly with all functions operational and keeps time and date. All interior lighting works great. This car has been garage kept and very well cared for. It's all in great shape for a 28 year old car. Misc. items Turbine wheels show normal wear and tear but are very presentable, Michelin tires are like new, all exterior lighting works perfectly. The cruise control works great and this car rides and drives like a dream. It's a non-smoker vehicle, no fowl smells of any kind, no leaks or vibrations. I would not hesitate to get in to this car and drive it anywhere. Here is a list of exactly what is wrong with this car: Power ant. and power drivers seat control as noted above Headlight doors lose vacuum over 3 days or more and come up but go back down upon start up (probably needs a new vacuum line) The horn doesn't work (should be the relay, I will replace and update this listing as needed) It has a very minor exhaust leak upon cold startup that dissipates upon warm up. Normal wear and tear where noted above along with the minor damage repair also noted above The car has 126000 original miles and overall is a strong 8 out of 10 in every aspect. This car has been very well kept and maintained by it's former collector owner. It needs very little to be perfect. These cars are hailed by some as the "finest Lincolns ever built" and as I understand it, this particular model is a rare bird as it is a Mark VI sedan "Signature Series" Please look at my photos and my video including a test drive available here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wVG6zZITBnM I take my Ebay account very seriously, I have described this car to the best of my knowledge. I can help with shipping arrangements. Thanks for looking and happy bidding!
