Normal 0 You are bidding on an original 1970 AMX 390 cubic inch/Go Pak/ 4 speed car with ram air. This car is complete and ran very well until December 2007 when I started dis-assembly for restoration. This is a divorce sale as I am losing my climate controlled garage. This car needs someone who has the time and knowledge to complete its restoration. I work 6 days a week and have not had the time to accomplish much. This car is too rare to just let it sit on blocks. The TV show “Speed Week” did a complete show on the 1970 AMX 390/4 speed/Go Pak/Ram Air car and estimates of the original 546 cars produced that fewer than 200 currently exist.Motor: The original 390 had a crack between cylinders and was not rebuild able. The car has a 360 in it that ran very well. It is a ram-air car and everything is intact from the hood to plastic duct-work to open element air cleaner with new K&N air filter included. Fuel tank has been removed, acid flushed, and triple coated and includes a new fuel sending unit. This car has the original 4-speed transmission/shifter, 3.54 posi-track rear differential, and front disc brakes. Body: This car still has the original 41 year old paint with factory shadow mask strips. Only rust I know of is the lower rear quarter panels behind the wheels and passenger floorboard. Very easily repaired. Front grill is complete but plastic is cracked. Only body damage is passenger rear quarter/bumper is slightly dented. Interior: Complete. Carpet is worthless, seats are intact but covers need replaced, door panels are very good, dash has no cracks but is warped, headliner is very good. If you have the time and skills to restore this car you will have one the greatest muscle cars ever produced. I originally paid $ 10,000 for the car and my loss is your gain. Car will have to be shipped not running or trailored, buyer pays for shipping. Deposit of $1000 is payable through PayPal and the remainder by money order or cashier check. The only pieces needed to run are a carburetor and distributor. On Apr-12-11 at 15:31:29 PDT, seller added the following information: I have been asked several questions about the trunk and rear window areas. I have uploaded 3 pictures of these areas. Trunk is very rust free except for areas in back of rear tires as mentioned in the original ad. The trunk lid still has the original jacking instructions sheet. I can find zero rust around the rear window, I did not remove the trim but I see no signs of rust. They are both there and in excellent condition. VIN sticker matched the dash VIN plate. thanks
