Vehicle Detail
Are you looking for a fun, inexpensive daily driver that gets you from A to B with a little pep? Or are you in the market for an inexpensive first car for your new teenage driver? Or maybe you're just looking for your next import project car. Either way, this is one little Civic that you don't want to pass up. I am the original owner of this 2000 Honda Civic DX. At first glance, it just looks like a very reliable, good-condition vehicle that's been well-taken care of for the past decade. But in reality, this isn't your typical Honda Civic. At around 45,000 miles, or roughly five years ago, I installed a Drag Generation III turbo kit. You can check out the various specs at their web site (www.dragturbokits.com), but the bottom line is that this Civic has a Turbonetics T3/T4 turbocharger, Drag front-mount intercooler, Walbro 255 fuel pump, GReddy blow-off valve, and Turbonetics wastegate. At the time I installed the turbocharger kit, I also replaced the factory exhaust with a slightly-larger Magnoflow exhaust and a high-flow catalytic converter and installed a custom-fabricated exhaust heat shield. At around the same time, I also replaced the factory sound deck and speakers with a Pioneer 200-watt head unit and 3-way front and rear Pioneer speakers. I've had regular maintenance done on the Civic, and I replaced the timing belt at around 90,000 miles. At around 100,000 miles, I also had the turbocharger rebuilt. I don't see any reason why this car won't give you a fun, reliable mode of transportation for a long time. The car isn't in flawless condition, and it's seen its share of little scratches, dings, and other blemishes. The most significant blemishes I know of include a paint scuff on the right corner of the front bumper, a roughed bottom edge of the front bumper, and a modest scratch on the gasoline door. But given the fact that this is a ten-year old car with over one hundred thousand miles, I think most people will agree that this car really is in good shape. It drives great, the air conditioner and sound system work just fine, and the car's never been in a single accident or given me any headaches. So enjoy!
