1955 Studebaker President Speedster 2- Door Hardtop Coupe. Hialeah Green & Sun Valley Yellow with Yellow Seats, green Carpet, and Gold Dash. One of just 2015 Speedsters built in the one year model run of 1955, and was Built in South Bend Indiana. This Car has been beautifully ,and correctly restored from thr bottom to the top. The President Speedster was loaded with standard equipment such as : 259 cubic inch Passmaster V8 rated at 185 hp,[ NOTE: original to the Car] automatic Transmisson,{ Note: Original to the Car] Power Stearing, power Brakes, dual exhaust, four -barrel Carburetor, " Shoemaker- Stitched" Diamond- Quilted genuine top Grain Leather seating, Carpeting from front to rear, a Map Pocket, an 8 Tube Radio, a Stewart-Warner 160 mph Speedometer, and 8,000 rpm tachometer in a striking engine-turned faceing, turn signals, electric Clock, tinted Glass, Cigarette Lighter, oil filter, and oil bath air cleaner, dual backup lights, triple horns, two speed electric wipers, tubeless whitewall tires, wirewheel covers, and fog- light bumperettes. The Trim is also specific to the Speedster including a Hood-length hood ornament, stainless roof band,Speedster nameplates,and checkard emblems as well as chrome-plated ashtrays,rear-view mirror, moldings and tailpipe extentions. Also included with the Car is reproduction shop manual, original 1955 parts manual, original 1955 magazine add, and lots of light bulb, old brake pad cores, canves tire protection covers and lots of other misc. parts The reason I am selling her is becouse I just dont have time to put it in the Car shows . Now for what is wrong with the Car. As you know no Car is perfect but let me tell you this one is real close. #1 The Car is all original and is still the 6 Volt system. the problem it is having is that it slow to crank. The car almost acts like it dosent have enough voltage. But then it speeds up and fires right up. A friend of mine told me I could convert it to 12 Volt and cure the problem that way or just get a new Batery that when cranking it is 12 Volt, and when in normal mode it is 6 Volt. If I keep her I am going to do that .Also when the Starter is hot it has to cool down before it start the Car again. I took the starter to a rebuild facility and they said it was in good shape As for rust the only rust it has is on the tail pipe exstenders. Other than that she is clean as a whistle. This is a as is sale! Buyer is responsible for transportation, and or shipping of the Car. Remember this a as is sale no warranty is given. Title of the Car is Clear, and will not be signed until funds have been exchanged, and have cleared the Bank Payment is to be paid through Pay pal or certified cashiers check. No Cash! I have been Inspecting the Car for problems I could Fix. I found that the Voltage Regulator Points had corrosion on them. I cleaned all electrical contact points, and the points themself, Generator was not fully charging the Batery. The volt meter was alway intermitant. it would fluctuate. Now It is a full 10 AMPS solid at Idle. Note: Starter Startes Great when cold. Engine fires write up. Batery was not geting fully charged thus the Starter was not geting full power Rust, on Tail Pipe exstention as been removed!
