Vehicle Detail

Here is my 1955 Chevy for sale. Economy has caught up to me and I now have to sell my near finished 55 chevy. I have been working on this car for 2 1/2 years and I hate to sell it but I've got to look out for my family first so here it is. I was going for a late 60's early 70's gasser feel. It definately has that feel with the big block, fenderwell headers, radiused quarters, etc. Here is a breakdown of what the car has: Recent hugger orange paint, single stage to keep it with a vintage feel. It does have some filler in the rear tail pan and rockers. Its not perfect but its a good 10 footer or better. It was being built to be a racecar so it didn't need to be perfect for my purposes. It needs the quarter panel beltline spears I don't have them. The car is very straight, not wavy. Radiused quarter panels,. This was completed by welding in 3/8" steel tubing so it has a finished look rather than a raw edge. most of the chrome and stainless is pretty good, the grill definately needs a new surround. Tail lights and chrome are new. The rear bumper has one spot where the chrome is peeling. The stainless around the windshield has a couple small kinks in it but it still fits the car OK. Recent 454 with only a few passes on it. Mild build, oval port heads with a LS6 solid lifter cam, procomp airgap intake and a Holley 830 HP carb. MSD ignition, 6AL hidden under the dash, pro billet distributor. Wired up as a racecar, no lights or signals. Trunk mounted battery in a sealed box and battery cut off switch in the tail of the right quarter. Patriot fenderwell headers, 2" primary, 3 1/2" collectors. no exhaust, open headers Turbo 350 trans. I have a hunch this will need a freshening up soon. I had it in my 69 chevelle drag car behind this same 454 and the 1-2 shift seemed soft last season. Stock 55 rear end with 4.11 or 4.56 gears. This came out of a running 4 door I had and it was way low geared. If the car sells I will throw in new axle bearings and wheel studs since they howled a little in the 4 door. Halibrand look a like 15x8 rear wheels brand new with brand new 28x8.50 Hurst cheater grooved slicks ET IV 14x6.5 slotted mags in the front with near new tires Ball joints and all steering linkage all new, zero miles. still needs aligned and front shocks. Interior is a blank canvas. New floors on the drivers side, Vintage hard plastic spoked steering wheel, Sun matching blue line guages and super tach II. No side windows but I think all the regulators and hardware are with the car. No carpet, door panels or headliner. All garnish mouldings are here and very nice. I'm sure there is a ton more, if your actually interested in the car call me before bidding and lets talk. Hopefully the pictures tell the story. I try and be as honest as possible when selling a car so the description is worst case scenario. I want you happy when you pick up the car, not dissapointed. So your still reading huh? Lets talk what it needs than to get it on the track. Starts, runs and drives on a trailer now. Needs a radiator, tranny cooler (lines are looped right now. don't worry it hasnt been driven more than a few feet this way) Side glass, front shocks and seat belts. front end alignment since everything is new in the front end. I think that should get you going. I may have missed some stuff but its a pretty close list. Its all in all a decent car and could be very easily finished and shown or raced, your call which. Put a wiring harness and exhaust in it and you could street drive it. just passed an Idaho VIN inspection so the clear title in my name is in the mail to me now I will allow you to make a deposit and I'll hold the car till the title gets here, Idaho is really fast so this week or next, probably even before the auction is over. also, if you bring a pickup truck to pick it up I have a mountain of 55 stuff that I'll throw in for free, body parts, 1 piece frame, extra suspension and rearend, etc. I also have a rebuilt 56 olds rearend non posi that goes with the car if you want it. Basically everything I have left over, literally a backyard full and boxes of parts from 2 cars I used to build one! Car is sold as-is where-is with no warranty so read everything above carefully! It is a project that needs finishing, not a run it down the road finished car!!! Call me, 208-419-6993 ****I received one negative feedback recently. I sold some roller rockers on here and had USA only in the listing. The buyer was in canada. I decided to let it slide and sold them to him. I had to charge extra for the shipping as soon as I got paid I shipped them. They sat in customs over a week. (tracked them) He negative feedbacked me. Please don't let that affect your decision to buy from me, I will do everything in my power to ensure you are happy. **** On Apr-06-11 at 19:19:14 PDT, seller added the following information: Update, I had a question about the radiator and ttranny cooler in the one picture, they are no longer withe the car so as stated above it needs a radiator and tranny cooler to be driveable. ScotOn Apr-07-11 at 08:10:37 PDT, seller added the following information: update again: The response on this car is crazy! Here is a couple of the questions and answers I have been asked over the phone and in emails: Q: Will it start and run long enough to drive on a trialer? A: Yes. the block is full of coolant and the tranny lines are looped so it is easily moveable. Q: How bad are the rockers and tailpan, you mentioned they have some filler in them. A: It looks fine right now but they did have some rust and if your looking for a perfect rust free 55, this isn't it. If you want to make this one that way, a 3 piece rear pan kit will take care of the rust in the back. Rockers would need replaced. Or, just drive/race it like it is, the paint will probably last years on a car that hardly gets driven and in good weather only. Q: How are the floors, braces and inner rockers? A: Floors are really good all the way back to the back edge of the trunk. When replacing the rear pan buy a 3 piece kit and that takes care of the little rust in the back edge of the trunk. Drivers side has a new, stamped pan welded in passenger floor pan is good. Body braces are fair only with some rust in a couple of them. Inner rockers could be replaced when the outers are done. So basically, drive it like it is, it looks nice and will make a hell of a race car or with some work a cruise night car. If your looking for perfect this car isn't the one for you but if your looking for a project you can finish up and enjoy without spending an arm or leg this is the car for you. My reserve is very reasonable for a big block 55 that is mostly fresh. See it for what it is and happy bidding!!On Apr-07-11 at 10:31:15 PDT, seller added the following information: Last update hopefully. I think I am making the car sound way worse than it is, I just want to be totally honest with people. The latest emails asked questions about just how rough the car is, it really isn't I'm just trying to be honest about everything on the car. The rockers had some pinholing of rust and bubbling, not holes. It looks really good sitting in the driveway and would look even better rolling down the dragstrip!! 208-419-6993On Apr-08-11 at 09:18:37 PDT, seller added the following information: I added close up pictures of the rockers and tail panel per request from several people. Nothing really shows up close in photos but its the best pics I could get. As you can see a 3 piece tail pan set would fix the tail pan and edge of the trunk. Rockers look OK, Inners would need done if you did the outers, but if you want it rust free plan on doing them. Or just run it like it is for awhile, it would look great going down the dragstrip or at your local cruise night!! Again, this car isn't perfect but its not a 20,000.00 55 Gasser. Its nearly drag strip ready and could be made street ready for not a ton of money. There is a guy here on Ebay that sells Gasser interiors for 55's that include door and side panels, package tray and kick panels all for 450 and it looks like he does a really nice job. Add in carpet for 150, headliner for 150 ( I do have a full set of headliner bows) and you have a mostly complete interior. Add a matching passenger seat and reupholster the back seat and you have a complete interior. It just all depends on what you want to do with the car and how far you want to go with it. Happy bidding! Scot
