This Arizona 1974 Volkswagen Thing was restored with the intent to use it as a tow vehicle behind our motor home. However we sold the motor home before the restoration was completed. With four other car projects it’s time to reduce inventory. I have only put 50 miles on it since it was completed two years ago and it has spent most of its time in the garage. The speedometer was replaced and shows 10,982 miles. The body was taken off the pan and painted inside and out including the engine compartment. All new parts were installed including rubber seals. The top and front side curtains are new from the Thing Shop. The rear side curtains are in good shape and serviceable. The engine had been rebuilt and the seats reupholstered before I purchased it. I replaced the transmission with a rebuild. Everything works except the windshield washers. They are driven off air pressure from the spare tire and have been disconnected. There is a new tow bar that goes with the car. The only thing left that I was going to do was buy the wooden duck boards for the floor. I also have a hard top that should be painted and have a new seal installed. The glass is in good shape. I would not want to put it on the new paint without a new seal. If the buyer wants it I would sell it separately for $450.00. It would be difficult to ship and should be picked up locally. Someone pointed out that I did not have any pictures or information on the engine. I have added a couple of pictures. The engine is a stock 1600 with the original air cleaner. I purchased the car from a friend and a mutual friend who was a Voldswagen mechanic had rebuilt the engine. . TERMS: This auction is in U.S. dollars.
