From the moment I saw it I knew it was a great SUV! From 4WD, Sunroof, Towing Package, and 3rd Row Seat This truck can do anything you want or need. Take tons of people with you, haul your stuff, tow it along, or strap it to the roof, this Explorer offers it all! The Interior to the Exterior on this Explorer looks Fantastic, I really could not ask for a better looking or nicer driving SUV. The Engine Feels Strong and Powerful, The Transmission Shifts Smoothly, The Radio Sounds Great, The Seats are Comfortable, AC blows Ice Cold, and then some! 2002 Ford Explorer offered by: CARNET 12638 Broad St Rd Richmond, VA 23233 We are located on the back of the building. We schedule all showings for cars by appointment basis. Please call 804-938-8767 or 804-928-9099. First Impression: This SUV features many Options. The Power Sunroof, Keyless Entry, 3rd Row Seating, 4WD and more upgrade this Explorer. The XLT takes you up a notch, and it comes with a CD player, alloy wheels, lighted vanity mirrors and an outside temperature/compass display. Standard equipment also includes a Securi-Lock passive anti-theft system, a rear wiper/washer with defroster, remote keyless entry, roof rails, cruise control, illuminated entry, and power windows, door locks and mirrors. Exterior: The overall appearance of this SUV is very Nice! With the Classy Black Clear Coat Exterior. This primary body color is accented with Dark Gray lower body panels and touches of Chrome. The gray pinstripe is a nice offset without being too overbearing and is classy not tacky. Chrome Accents are abundant. There are Factory Alloy Wheels, Front Chrome Grille, and Explorer XLT Badges. This Explorer is riding on a set of Factory Alloy Wheels. The Wheels are Beautiful 16" Alloy Wheels. The tires are in Excellent Condition with plenty of thread left. The p235/70/R16 tires just passed VA State Inspection that is valid until 3/12. The exterior styling of this SUV is Awesome! The lines are aggressive, the overall look is large and in my opinion this SUV is what an SUV should look like. The front headlights are large and have sharp crisp angles. The headlights are clear and clean. There is also a front license plate bracket here. The side view looks really great with the factory tinted windows and black roof rails. The door handles are a coordinating black color that adds to the overall appeal of this SUV. This Ford Explorer even looks good from the back. The hatch can open in one piece or in 2 pieces. You can either let the window stay open for a nice breeze or you can open the whole thing. This makes it super convenient to load and unload stuff and cargo. The rear tinted window has its own wiper washer and defrost. There is also a tow hitch with light hook up. This Explorer has remote side view mirrors. This Explorer has fully remote locks. There is a remote key fob and an exterior door key pad. There are also exterior entry lights. When you unlock the SUV with the remote, exterior lights turn on momentarily to make entering the SUV easier and safer. There is a number pad on the driver side door. This is used to lock and unlock the vehicle without the key or the key fob. Press the combination once to unlock the driver door. Press the last digit of the 5 digit code again to unlock all the doors. Press the last two digits at the same time to lock the doors. Overall the Condition of this Ford is Great!! For a 2002 model is looks far better than what I would expect with these miles. I do notice some road rash on the front and a few small door dings. The paint is still so nice and shiny these are hardly noticeable. However we just wanted to mention. If you have realistic expectations, you will be pleasantly surprised. Interior: The Interior of this SUV looks Really Good! Just like on the outside, the interior continues with a neutral color combination of gray and dark gray with black accents. The seats are done in High Quality cloth that holds up very well and the color is good at concealing stains. The front seats individual captain seats. These seats are very large and comfortable. The front seats have high backs for added comfort and stability and large cushions for added leg support. A large lower cushion increase leg support and thus makes for an SUV that is easier to drive. This full leg coverage reduces drive fatigue. The driver’s seat is fully Power. You will find complete power options including power height, tilt and front to back. This seat has manual recline. The Power amenities include power windows, door locks, and mirrors. The windows have 1 touch power down driver side. Notice that the back windows go all the way down, a nice and unique feature. There are also child lock protection for the passenger windows to help protect rear seat riders. All these controls are located at your fingertips on the driver side door. Notice you also have a large cubby on the bottom for storage on both front doors. Integrated into this door panel is a cup holder, way cool! One of the things I like about this Explorer is that the lower panel of the door is hard so that if you push it open with your foot, you don't damage anything. Being small, and normally trying to carry too many items at once, this is very helpful for me. The steering wheel is in fantastic condition. The wheel has the cruise controls on it for easy access. This is very convenient and increases safety as you are less distracted while driving. You also have the instrument panel with all the standard gauges, digital odometer and outside temp and compass. There are no warning lights on this SUV, nor have there been since we have had it. The center console is loaded with features at your fingertips. You have an audio system that leaves nothing overlooked. There is an in dash CD player with cassette and a digital tuner system. The AC is Icy cold and the heat is cozy and warm. You will also notice that to the left on the center console are your 4WD controls. Having these buttons at your fingertips makes any terrain super easy to navigate! The floor console houses a rubber lined cubby and pen holder. Things in this area do not slide around. There are also 2 sturdy built in cup holders, an ac adaptor and a smaller cubby. The padded armrest opens up for even more storage. Overhead you have a fully powered Sun roof with Sunshade. This roof will slide or just tilt up so you can control how much breeze you let in. The sunshade is great to have because you can just slide it open and only let the sunshine in!! You get a front glove box with this Ford Explorer. There is also a set of 2 keys and a key fob. There are Power Exterior Side View Mirrors. The 2nd row of seats is very convenient. You can seat 3 adults here. This bench is a 40/20/40 split. You can fold each section of the seatback down in any combination you like. The 2 outer sections actually flip totally up as well. On the back of the center console here you have fan control and 2 pull down cup holders and another AC Power adaptor. There is a 3rd row seat back here that can seat 2 more adults. There are also 2 headrests and cup holders for comfort. The 3rd row is actually very comfortable, I have personally sat back here with no complaints. This 3rd row will fold down to allow extra cargo area. It has a board that will pull forward so that the entire back cargo area can be totally flat. The rear cargo area can be as big or as small as you want to make it. It is carpeted and has tie downs. There is a netted cargo cubby in the side. There is a recessed storage area in the floor of the rear cargo area. Something cool you will find back here is a power lock button. Makes things easier when loading or unloading. Overall the Interior Condition is really nice. It does not appear to have been abused. Whoever had this Ford before took very good care of it. The few things that I did notice are: The headliner on the sunshade has a tear in it, almost like the sunshade got off track and was pulled against something. It is on the side and not really that noticeable unless you look for it. There is some very minor wear on the left side bolster of the driver’s seat. This is very typical and usually more substantial in comparable vehicles. Lastly I noticed that the front upper door panels on both sides show some fading. Again, typical for vehicles of this age and milage. Again, for the age and miles on this Explorer, I would expect more wear. Overall the interior looks Fantastic!! Under the Hood: This 2002 Ford Explorer has the ultimate combination. With a 239 Horsepower 4.6L V8 engine you never want for power and the 4WD lets you go wherever you want. The engine is powerful and operates exactly as it should. The transmission shifts smoothly and also operates exactly as it should. There is a factory tow package so you can take what you want with you when you go. This SUV has no excuses at all. The steering is easy and the brakes are smooth with no pulsating. Driving Impressions: I love driving it because it is not too big to park or maneuver, yet big enough to get everything in it that I need. It has a commanding view of the road which makes it easy to drive. The Car fax shows 2 owner. This model Explorer is highly appealing and continues to be one of the most popular SUVs on the market. With love overhead and high volume, our cars are priced less than most private sellers and normally only a few hundred dollars over our cost. We can provide quality cars at a low cost. Look at Wal-Mart, high volume companies save you money. 2. In VA, all of our running vehicles have to be State Safety Inspected. Virginia has one of the most strict inspection processes. An independent shop inspects such components as Lights, Suspension, Brakes, Tires, Windshield, and More! We usually plan on spending at least $600 per car to get them to pass state inspection. So, you have piece of mind that this inspection has been done recently. 3. As a dealer, you never have to wait to legally drive and register your car. Even if there is a bank payoff or title, we can facilitate an easy exchange and provide any necessary temporary tags and accompanying paperwork so you can drive away at the time of pick up. (Please note, not all cars qualify for temporary tags if we have the original title at time of transfer. 4. Safety! As a business, you have the added security and confidence that your safety is maintained at the time of pick up. No driving up to a stranger's house, our transactions take place at a licensed dealership. 5. Information available about each car we sell! We are professionals with years of experience. We are not dumping any unwanted junk out of our back yard on ebay. We spend hours taking detailed photos, including specific information about each car, and adding our own impressions of how a car performs. We do not have emotional attachments to these cars and try to be as honest as possible about the overall condition. 6. On, ebay you have the confidence that you are shopping with a state licensed, bonded and insured company. We cannot scam and run ebay frauds the way private sellers could. Plus, look at our years ebay history. We want to talk about a couple of items. We are Wholesale Dealers. We buy our cars Directly from New Car Dealers and Not Auctions. We take all reasonable steps to ensure that we sell quality cars. When they are traded in, someone at the new car dealer drives the car. When we buy the car, someone from our dealership drives the car. If a car has a problem we either fix it or disclose it. We have no intention or knowledge of ever selling a car with a problem. However, all cars break. I wish I could, but I cannot predict when a car will break. We do our best to represent the vehicle fairly, however, we are human and do make mistakes. Any minor imperfections consistent with age are not reasons for refusal of delivery/pick up or negotiation. We sell cars As Is, and cannot warranty any vehicles we sell so please take careful consideration when bidding on or buying now these cars. Whenever we sell a car on ebay, we always seem to be asked how we think the car would function on a long drive home from pick up. While I cannot offer any warranty or guarantee I have no reason to believe this car would not make any drive home. We are wholesale dealers, please do not ask us to arrange, or compensate for delivery, shipping, transportation, or other related expenses. Please note that we reserve the right to cancel bids from zero or negative history bidders. If you have no or negative history, you Must contact us prior to bidding.
