Car runs and shifts like new. I have been using as a semi-daily driver. Starts easily at Zero as well as 100 degrees, does not overheat. The paint is mostly original as far as I can tell. There are a few minor scratches, hood and trunk has some paint allegatoring. Windshield is new, other glass is excellent. Original window price sticker. This car is being offered locally and if sold will be removed from EBay. THIS CAR, 289 SUPERCHARGED 4 SPEED RARELY BECOMES AVAILABLE AND OWNERS CAN ATTEST AS TO WHY. THIS IS A RELUCTANT SALE AS WE ARE MOVING OUT OF THE COUNTRY. On Mar-30-11 at 08:10:34 PDT, seller added the following information: I have several questions about the car: answer about engine and trans: JET THRUST ENG W SUPERCHG 367.00 AND 4 SPEED TR FL SHIFT 188.30 are on the cars original invoice from BEN A BEGIER CO, 1915 E 14TH ST SAN LEANDRO CALIF THE CAR WAS FACTORY UNDERCOATED 23.50, AND TWIN TRACTION 38.93 THE HORN RING IS PERFECT SHOW CHROME, THE HORN RING CENTER EMBLEM IS NOS THE HEATER WORKS AS WELL AS DEFROST....AS WELL AS THEY WORKED IN 1963...DON'T COMPARE IT TO TODAY'S On Mar-30-11 at 09:42:34 PDT, seller added the following information: SOME MORE ANSWERS: THE CARBURETOR WAS REBUILT BY A PROFESSIONAL REBUILDER IN GALVESTON, TEXAS ABOUT 2 YEARS AGO, IT IS THE CORRECT ORIGINAL CARB. THE TRUNK AND FLOORBOARDS HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO RUST; THE ONLY RUST VISIBLE IS A SPOT UNDERNEATH THE PASSENGER SIDE AVANTI EMBLEM. THE GLOVE BOX DOOR AND PERF METAL IS NOS AND IS PERFECT AS SHOWN IN THE PICTURES, THE HAWK EMBLEM WAS GOLD PLATED AND IS PERFECT. THE RADIO HAS NOT BEEN CONNECTED BUT IS STUDEBAKER NOS AND CORRECT FOR THIS CAR; I WAS TOLD THAT IS WORKS, IT IS FLAWLESS THE REAR PACKAGE SHELF IS NOT CARDBOARD...IT WAS CUSTOM MADE FROM A BLACK MATT FORMICA SO IT IS STABLE AND DOES NOT WARP...I DID NOT CUT A SPEAKER HOLE IN ANTICIPATION OF A BETTER MUSIC SET UP On Mar-30-11 at 19:41:18 PDT, seller added the following information: I have been asked: yes, the running lights on the top of the front fenders, the clear shark fins, do work. The headlights are halogen and they work both low and high beams, the parking lights work front and back, the brake lights work, the back up lights work, the interior and glove box lights work and the license plate light works and has the NOS lense cover. The (above the rear view mirror) interior light works when the doors are opened. As far as I recall right now, the trunk light was an option and I honestly don't know if this car has one...can't recall opening the trunk after dark. Oh yes, the dash lights work and are on a on/off switch. On Mar-30-11 at 19:48:14 PDT, seller added the following information: more: the turn signal lights work, both front and back, left and right as well as the brake lights. There are no cracks in the lenses. They are all NOS and the front parking lights are clear not yellow. The braking is excellent; a slight pull to the left when braking but not a big deal. Power steering is excellent and I will include quick steering arms from Studebaker International which I never had installed. They reduce the steering action needed to turn 90 degrees or more. On Apr-01-11 at 10:15:26 PDT, seller added the following information: I have been asked about the oil pressure at idle and 60mph. I know it's good, but I don't off the top of my head the no.'s, great excuse to take a drive. Stay tuned. On Apr-01-11 at 14:19:21 PDT, seller added the following information: response to question regarding oil pressure: I just came back after checking oil pressure. At a running temp of 170 or 175 degrees F, the oil pressure at 60mph is between 60 and 65. The idle oil pressure is at 25. On Apr-02-11 at 07:05:32 PDT, seller added the following information: I have found some misc Hawk items that I will no longer have need for that I will include with the sale of the car: Studebaker Passenger Car Shop Manual 1959 through 1964, original 1963 Hawk Owners Guide with Owner Service Policy, a new brake master cylinder (doesn't need to be installed), Studebaker mechanics fender protection cover. The dash clock was rebuilt recently with electronic guts so it actually keeps perfect time and looks like NOS. I also found and will include with the car a very rare NOS GRANTURISMO HAWK QUALITY BUILT EXPRESSLY FOR dash plaque that is original in orginal envelope and is UNENGRAVED. On Apr-02-11 at 15:02:40 PDT, seller added the following information: I JUST ADDED SOME PICTURES, I ALSO FOUND SOME THINGS I WILL INCLUDE IN THE SALE: a new flip cover chrome trunk lid lock and keys that will look great when the trunk is repainted and the trunk plaque is re-installed.
