I have for sale my unique 1981 Malibu Race Car. The car is a 1981, but I didn't have the vin on me when I listed it and ebay requires a vin on 1981 and newer cars. This is the story I got when I purchased the car. Car was bought new and driven for about 1 year, accumulating around 12k miles. The car was then backhalved and turned into a race car for the owners son. The car was raced for some this way and then the son got tired of racing so the car was sold. The car has fiberglass hood and doors. The doors have lexan windows in them, along with the quarter glass being lexan. Front and rear windows are still factory glass. Car is currently set up for a BBC and a turbo 350 trans. Has a 12 Bolt rear with a spool and 4:30 gears. Car has dual battery’s in the trunk along with a 12 gallon fuel cell. Interior was tastefully done as well as the trunk. Trunk is carpeted and looks show. Car retains all of its original paint, with the exception of the hood and doors, and it shows very well. The son ran a body shop at a local chevy dealership, so the fiberglass pieces match very nicely. All chrome and bright work still looks good. Bumpers are original and shine nice. There are a few very minor blemishes, but over all the car is nearly a show car. I get compliments on it nearly everytime I’m at the track. The original owners did a very nice and meticulous job building this car. There are very few people that are more nit picky than myself, but these folks were, and it shows. You will not be disappointed. I will probably regret selling this car as it took me years to find one this nice. My two young sons are now my priority. Car will be sold less motor and trans. Car does have a valid title. If car does not meet reserve price, I will stash it in the corner and save it for my boys to play with later on as money is not the reason for selling it. Car is for sale locally and I reserve the right to end this auction early. Please don’t ask the reserve, bid what you can and good luck.
