I have retired and will be selling four cars from my collection. This is the 1983 Volkswagon Rabbit GTI. It is a rare car. The other three that I will be selling are three Ford hot rods: 31 Five Window Coupe; 33 Two Door Sedan; and 33 Three Window Coupe. Description of the Rabbit: The GTI was only made two years 1.8 engine; 5 speed transmission heavy duty front and rear factory sway bars 9.5 vented front disc brakes 14 inch rims only came on GTI recaro blue seats; center console rear wiper sprayer AM FM radio cruise control Air conditioned factory windows factory GTI emblems no tears in seats; dash has cracks; two small dents in the hood and one small rust spot on the driver's door car is all original except for the tires History The owner of this car died and left it to his daughter. Her husband drove it on occasion to work; at that time the odometer stopped working. Estimated mileage is 25000- 30000 miles. I bought the car in 2000 and the tires had half the tread and cracks- I put new tires on it. I drove the car some to charge the battery. Four years ago the choke system quit working and the car will not start. I intended to fix it but have been working on my hot rods and have not had time- so the car is not running at this time. This car would be a good car to restore or use for parts. It has the original paint, original seats, and ran good when it was running.
