Vehicle Detail
You’re bidding on a 1988 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme Brougham which was one of the most fully equipped models loaded with power options. This car is equipped with power everything and all controls are in working condition. The engine is a 305 CI V8. The engine starts right up and runs very smooth with nice acceleration. This car was owned by my older neighbor and friend who passed away a year ago. I’m selling it for the family. The car is in excellent condition and was run by him very little. The car has always been garaged and was rarely even driven and thus has accumulated only 38,292 miles. Even the driver side carpet still looks like new. The rest of the interior is immaculate and the seats show no signs of wear. The interior color is blue/gray. I noticed some of the pics show varying interior colors but this is due to that fact that some pics were taken with flash while others were not. Also the engine compartment is extremely clean( see pics, like new). This vehicle carries a current PA inspection through Dec 2011. The car has always been serviced and was kept in impeccable condition. A few months before my neighbor passed away, he had four new tires installed and a battery installed. The tires have less then 5000 miles on them. There is no rust on this ca,r and the charcoal metalic exterior paint is in great shape with only two minor abrasions, one on the front bumper side and one on the mirror (see pics). After this winter's storage, I notice a slight issue with the park brake cable not retracting but it seems to be free and operational…… a minor fix. This car is a rare find in such good condition and low mileage. TERMS OF SALE The car is being sold “as is” and there are no warranties either expressed or implied. This car has a clear title and has been described as accurately as possible. Full payment must be received within 3 days of auction. The car needs to be picked up within two weeks from close of auction. If you have any questions, please ask, otherwise….happy bidding. On Mar-23-11 at 04:41:12 PDT, seller added the following information: UPDATE/ADDITIONAL INFO: I had a few additional questions from prospective buyers so I thought I would add some additional information to the ad I've also added a few pictures as well. The headliner is in excellent condition (basically like new). Also this is a NON-SMOKER car as well. There is no rust anywhere on the chassis frame or exterior sheet metal. There is very slight rust scale on the rear axle and a few areas on the suspension components, probably not painted well from the factory and thus susceptible. As long as I have know this car (the last 8 years), I can attest to the fact that it was never driven in the winter and was ALWAYS garaged. Also the grille appears to be fine and looks symmetrical on both sides although not the best fit. There is a slight scrape on the front bumper along the passenger side corner, but only on the bumper trim not on the chrome part of the bumper. The chrome is in excellent condition (mint). Also there is a little scratch on the passenger side mirror, which at some point probably occurred when driven into the garage..... very minor. Overall the condition of the paint is a 9 of 10, and truly very good or its age (only a few very minor imperfections). Probably could use a wax job since it sat over the winter. It was detailed (inside and outside) late last summer (September) when the pictures were taken. This car is a rare find and is exceptionally clean for its age, now over 20 years. I figured I'd take it out for a cruise last night before the snow hit today, the first of the year since being put away for the winter in late October. I checked the functionality of the controls since I had a few questions regarding their operation. Power windows work fine, Power antenna works fine. Electric seats, heater and defroster all in working order. AC system seems to function (AC compressor engaging and disengaging properly) but I will not guarantee it will blow cold since I could not test it out (40 deg ambient temp outside last night). The cruise control system functions without issue. Though not a sports car the acceleration was smooth up until cruise speed of 65 mph. As 65 to 75 MPH she was a real pleasure to drive. I would not hesitate to take this cruiser across the country set the cruise and enjoy the ride. Hope this helps......... good luck bidding !!
