Vehicle Detail
1970 Chrysler 300 convertible. Last year for Chrysler's Full Size convertible. Only 1,077 total production. I am the second owner. Included is the Original Title (state returned it after it was processed!), Original Window Sticker, Original Owners Manual. This was a "Sold Car" and was purchased by a local Pharmacist. Car has only 79,516 original miles on its Numbers Matching 440, 727 Torqueflite automatic transmission. Options include: AO1 Light group, B51 Power brakes, C92 Floor mats, D34 Torqueflite transmission, E85 440 4 barrel engine, G15 Tinted windshield, G33 Remote LH mirror, H51 Air conditioning, J55 Undercoating and hood insulation pad, N88 Auto speed control, P25 Power bucket seat, P31 Power windows, R13 AM Radio, S77 Power steering, V3W White convertible top, V5X Black body side moulding. Total New Car Price: $5,766.35 What I've done. New battery (group 27), valve cover gaskets, air filter, oil change (Valvoline 15W-40 Premium Blue), oil filter, chassis lube, upper and lower radiator hoses, heater hoses, all hose clamps, all 4 accessory belts, water pump, thermostat, antifreeze flush and fill, double roller timing chain, Edelbrock Thunder 650 carb (original Holley included), fuel filter, oil pressure sending unit, water temp sending unit, heater hose nipples (1/2 & 5/8), Specter gas tank (The Best!), stainless steel fuel sending unit, fuel pump, Mopar electronic conversion (original distributor included), ignition coil, spark plug wires, wiper blades, negative battery cable. While I had it apart for timing chain I painted top and front of engine to make it look like new! It is now ready for summer time cruising, top down fun!!! Car starts right up and is an easy, comfortable driver. Goodyear P235R75-15 radial tires look like new. Top goes up and down perfectly. Convertible top boot is perfect. Beautiful original interiors only flaw is a slight burnt spot on top of dash pad. Paint is 99.9% original (some minor touch ups). All lenses are good and all lights work. NO hidden body filler on this one!!! What it still needs. There are some dents as you can see in the photos. The worst is the passenger door and there's a small one on passenger rear quarter. Small rust spot behind LR tire, partially hidden by trim.(only rust on entire car!), Rear bumper has 2 small dents (I have a used rear bumper that is straight but needs rechromed), spare tire is used and probably no good. One power seat motor (3 in total) not working (lowers rear of drivers seat, it's currently down and is comfortable for my 5' 10'' frame. If you're bigger, no problem at all), brakes have a slight tug to one side when you touch them but it doesn't pull and does stop straight. Headlamp door opens and closes but there is an issue with a 'buzzing' sound that comes from the relay. Unplug the door motor and the noise stops. That's it! This car is a solid, original survivor! It gets more looks than my muscle car, probably because no one's ever seen one before!!! If you have any questions, ask before bidding. NO BIDS if you have less than 5 transactions please. $500 deposit to paypal within 48 hours of auction end. Pick up within 7 days. On Mar-20-11 at 18:07:26 PDT, seller added the following information: Revision! I didn't think about it till I got a question. The air conditioning is currently not blowing cold air. There are bubbles visible in the sight glass. My A/C guy tells me that you can add R12 to it as is and it will work find. Or you can change the filter/drier and do an R134 conversion. If it doesn't sell, I'll be doing the conversion (costs about $200) and enjoying it this summer. Also, the cruise control kind of works. It will engage but slowly loses speed. Maybe a small vacuum leak? I don't know and don't care about cruise myself but if you want to use it it will need to be addressed. The AM radio does work.On Mar-24-11 at 13:57:09 PDT, seller added the following information: A question was raised about the panel between the trunk lid and top. I had forgotten about this area but have uploaded pictures since. This area is a common problem area for these cars because of "flexing" caused by the trunk lid torsion bars. This area has never had any prior work done to it! I don't believe there is any problem with water penetration to this area. If you have any questions please contact me before bidding. Thanks.
