Vehicle Detail
1979 BONNEVILLE COUPE: I purchased this vehicle last July with 53503 miles from a dealer. I was told that it originally came from a family in Bucks County pa. The title read that is was last titled in March of 1980, so it's had only 2 owners (including me) in the last 31years. The paperwork along with the condition of the car after inspection, gave me no reason not to believe the dealer. I purchased the vehicle as a toy, but found it to be so nice and fun to drive that I drove it everyday till November when the weather changed for the worse. It has been stored in my garage everyday. I am selling it for two reasons. 1)- I purchased another toy and, 2) - my daughter is in need of her first car and she's not to keen on this one!!! I can't understand why a young girl wouldn't love this, oh well. The vehicle is in excellent condition and as I said, I used it for a daily driver last summer and fall. I put a little over 7000 miles on it without a problem. I would drive the vehicle twice a week to New Jersey from Lancaster pa. roughly a 200 plus trip in 90+ degree weather with the ac cranked driving 78+mph and it handled wonderfully. I averaged roughly 15-17 mpg . Every where I went I got complements on the condition of the car. As you'll see in the pictures it is in great shape. I was very impressed with the interior which other than a little fading of the plastic is as new as could be. The power windows, ac, am\fm radio, power steering and brakes all work without issue. The headliner and all interior pieces are in excellent condition (see pics). Mechanically there are no issues of real concerns. When I first got the car I took it to my mechanic to go through the vehicle an let me know what was needed. The only issue my mechanic found was a slight seeping of the radiator. He said I could replace it or slow down a little on the turnpike and all would be fine. I slowed down, to 78 from 85 and never had an issue. He said that the vehicle was mechanical in excellent shape. I had the oil changed ( and have changed every 3000 miles) even though he said it was clean. The tires were newer when I got the car as were the brakes. You can pick this car up and drive it home or to show you friends without issue. The exterior is also in great shape with no evidence of rust repair. The paint has a nice shine, the landau top in in excellent shape as is the chrome and the painted pin stripe. There is a small bump in the rear quarter (see pics) and a couple of road chips in the hood but nothing needing any real attention. Whoever had this car before took really good car of it. Please look at the pictures and you'll see the vehicle condition for your self. I tried to show the car as best as possible. You won't be disappointed when you see it in person. It's a very inexpensive way to enter the collector car market and it seems the 70's cars are gaining steam in value's. Thank you and congratulations in advance, you'll have a blast driving her.
