This is a 1971 Volvo P1800 E. I have had this car since 1999. Mechanically it was sound in 99 but the body had some rust. I started working on the body and the rust kept going and going. I am a better mechanic than a body guy so I have decided this is more than I can repair. I started work on one side as shown in the pictures.The rust is mostly associated with the fender and rocker panels. The frame of the car is in pretty good condition. There are a few minor places that could be worked on but the car is structurally sound. All the original parts come with the car as well as a number of metal repair panels and a new exhaust system. The engine and transmission worked when i parked the car to do the body work. I have no reason to believe they are not still in good condition. I was starting the engine every few months up until about 2004. It has been stored in a garage on car jacks most of the time. The tires are dry rotted but will hold air for a little while. I am not sure if all the gauges worked or not, I know the oil pressure an temperature gauges worked. I don't know if this car is a good candiate for restoration or for parts. Somebody with more patience than me could restore it I believe. There are a lot of parts that are in good condition, the hood and the front grill have no damage. I think the doors have been repaired in the past due to the bondo on the outer skin. I listed the mileage as 100,000. The odometer shows 43,000, i am guessing that is 143,000 but i am not sure. I tried to take pictures of all the everything. I couldn't get any good pictures of underneath the car but if you have questions or concerns please give me a call at 410 610 9824.
