I am selling my M170 project complete with spares. This Jeep was a USMC ambulance that was changed into a radio jeep and spent most of it life at Cam Pendelton in California. It was sold to the forrestry department spomewhere around 1980 and used as a service vehicle until it was sold out of the inventory with other vehicles in 2004. I purchased the vehicle in 2004 and have been restoring it ever since. The body is is excellent condition with no known rust other than some very limited surface rust. The body has the normal dings you migth expect form a 50+ year old vehicle. I have been restoriing with many original hard to find parts and was going to put an M38A1 rear seat in in place of the stretchers and ambulance specific peices.. The Jeep runs and drives i just do not have time ti me to finish. The jeep runs and starts right up, it runs and shifts well. the jeep does have a slight oil leak and pinion seal leaks. recently replaced the transmission, transfer case and clutch with used components the clutch plate is new. Old t-90 transmisson and T-18 transfer case are inclused as spare parts. The jeep has been converted to a 12 volt electrical system including a late model GM alternator and high torque starter. I have the main peices for the 24 volt system which includes the (generator, generator regulato, starter and Distributor) and will be included in this auction. The fuel system is stock including the Carter YS carburator excpet for a later model fuel pump. A couple of note for bidders, included is an NOS lightreel which is very rare, New top bows with all of the footman loops in the correct places I am including the following parts noit shown in the picutres and all parts are in good working and restorable order unless noted. Driver side original fender was replaced with an aftermarket fender, orginal dented is included in the auction. Front lights and buckets complete Complete front black out lights Rear lights with lens Fuel and generator guage for dash with the three dash lights. Additional fifth rim for spare tire.
