1972 SUZUKI GT550J Indy - Only 2.500 original miles <<<< No Reserve >>>> I have owned this bike since 2008. I am the third owner. The bike has a clear Florida Title. This 1972 bike has only been ridden a few times over the last 39 years and only has 2.500 miles on it. It has been started every few months. It is still in beautiful condition, as you can see in these photos. It will not require any work to make it run, it runs well. The Suzuki GT550 is a two stroke, air-cooled, three cylinder 1970s-era motorcycle in Suzuki's "Grand Touring" GT series. Even though total production of the 550 exceeded 60,000 examples spread over a six model year production run, this total was exceeded by both of its three cylinder GT series brothers. Suzuki produced over 80,000 units of the GT750 and over 100, 000 units of the GT380. All three models were originally offered for sale with the beginning of the 1972 MY with the 550 christened "Indy" for the North American market. Apparently, production of the 550 was delayed for some reason because it was not available to dealers in the U.S. until after April, 1972. In Suzuki's numbering scheme, automobile race tracks identify each of its 3 cylinder GT bikes for the North America market: 380 for Sebring, 550 for Indy, 750 for Le Mans. Vintage motorcycle in original condition. Runs very good, starts easily with electric or kick start. Drives excellent, everything works very good, also comes with the owner manual and tool kit. Ever since I bought the bike, continues to be under cover and inside the garage. This was my second Suzuki GT, my first was a 1972 GT750J that I sold last year on eBay. These two-stroke, triples are special. The first GT550’s had drum brakes (double) in the front like this one. Frame number is GT550-17049 and the engine number is GT550-28277. Originals and perfect paint, tank and side covers. The inside of tank is very clean. All the chrome is good. Mostly seen in the photos. Has the originals tire, also it has an original Suzuki key. Clear title, although it has not been registered since 1983. This bike is in very good condition, and has just been sitting for many years, run once in a while. This is a very nice original vintage cruiser that could easily be made into a museum piece.
