Vehicle Detail
You are looking at a great vehicle here. A 2002 VW Jetta Turbo Diesel that gets 50+ MPG on the highway and averages 46MPG for my daily drive. I wish I could keep it but I am getting a new car and don't have room for this one. This car has one of the best diesel engines built, with a lot of life left in it yet. These engines were designed to run for 500,000+ miles! Oil changes only need to take place every 10k miles on these cars too!! Biodiesel can be run in this vehicle!! You can also run waste vegetable oil (WVO) in these engines!!! (I have not run WVO in this vehicle but it is an option for the new owner, check out details on the net) ----The car's story---- I bought this car used at 40,000 miles and it has been a dream ever since. I have not had any major problems with it!! Mechanically, the car still feels like it did when I got the thing, if not better due to the preventative maintenance I do and the upgrades I have put on. I have put on new injector nozzles to improve performance and increase efficiency. These are the Fratelli Bosio PP357's that give about +5hp and +10 ft-lbs over the stock with better burn efficiencies due to the spray pattern yielding a couple extra MPG. The vehicle comes with two winter tires and 4 all seasons. All the tires are in good shape with plenty of tread on them. I replaced the shocks, struts and coils at about 150k miles. They still feel great! Look underneath the car and you will see a Evo Imports Aluminium Skid plate that is 3/16" thick to protect the low hanging oil pan and transmission from rocks, pot holes, ice and road debris. This thing covers about the whole undercarriage of the front end and really gives you a lot of confidence when driving on bad roads or in the icy winter. Brake calipers, pads and rotors were replaced at around 160k. The transmission fluid and filer were changed at 150k as well. The transmission on this car acts just like it did when I bought it. On cold days there is a little hesitation when engaging at a stop but that lasts just until you drive for a minute and circulate the fluids. The Timing belt was replaced at 115k miles with a 100k mile TB kit, including tensioner and water pump by a TDI Guru who used all the correct lock down tools. It should be good for another 25k miles before replacement. There is a burn on the drivers side seat from the heated seat coil. The coil was replaced by the VW dealership but the burn remains. I never notice it as its under my bum when I'm using the vehicle so I haven't bothered to replace the seat cover. (See Pics) The radio doesn't get FM reception, AM works fine. This is a common flaw with VW's. I think it is a problem with the antenna base, but I am not sure as I don't listen to the radio so I haven't fixed it. The CD player works just fine and I use a tape adaptor to listen to XM radio. The rear passenger side window regulator clips are broken. Again, another common VW flaw. The last time it happened (to the driver side rear window) the dealer fixed it for me for free, but I just noticed that it wasn't working so I haven't taken it in to get it fixed. The armrest lid is broken, still lays flat and opens but doesn't lock shut and the lid can be taken off. There are typical chips on the front of the car, pictures will show you the extent, not too bad considering 180k+ miles on the car. There is a spot on the passenger side bottom where the jack slipped and dented just beneath the door, again, pics are included. Let me know if you have any other questions or concerns and I will answer to the best of my ability!! You are free to contact me to arrange a meeting if you would like to look at the car in person. Buyer will arrange for shipping. This car is being sold as-is with no warranty expressed or implied. I am selling this car locally as well so this listing may be removed before ending.
