jeffsalinardi store 2001 Audi A6 Quattro 4.2 V8 127,500 miles totally loaded sport interior black on black Car was a great car until this past sunday when I replaced the cam seals and forgot to completely tighten the cam sprocket, the sprocket slipped on the cam and the pistons hit the valves. So now the engine has bent valves. It was 3 am when I though I finished the job, so that's what happens - a $6500 car becomes a $3500 car with the turn of the key. 100% my fault. Dumbest thing I've done in a long time. The front carrier (bumper) is pulled from the car to and part of the engine is dismantled to verify that the valves are bent. I have all the parts, you'll have to take it apart anyway to fix the engine. Before that I spent alot of money going through the car. I'm mentioning all these things because you can transfer these parts onto the replacement engine, or if you swap heads, whatever. Timing belt was done about 10,000 miles ago with all tensioners, water pump, thermostat, etc Oil cooler was resealed and new tube installed. NGK iridium plugs just intalled both catalytic converters with both upper bosch O2 sensors were just replaced ($800 just for the parts) PCV vent valve just replaced I'm disgusted that this happened. I loved this car - it handles like a race car, flys on the highway, and looks like million bucks. The transmission is fine, the brakes are fine, the abs and traction control is fine. The rims/tires on the car now are snow tires and I will be keeping them. The 5 spoke "fat five" factory wheels shown stacked up in the picture are the summer rims/tires and they will be on the car when it sells. If you want the winter rims/tires they will add $700 to the cost of the car, otherwise, like I said, it comes with summer tires on 5 spoke rims. And I'll keep the winter ones. It has a factory GPS with CD's, I've never used it. It has the sun shades on the back and rear windows. I'll assist you however possible to get the car transported, but it is up the buyer to trailer the car. Ask questions 860-680-1829 cell Jeff.
