My coworker was an ex Hollywood teamster that shared the same birthday as me but a decade or two apart; we did not work well together. He had a 67 VW Van out in the middle of nowhere stuffed up in the hills above where he was living. He asked me to get the bus to where he could get it out of there. I did the job. On a hike out of there I came across a 69 CL350 that was stuffed in some bushes amongst the redwood-covered hills. I ask him what was the story on the bike since he was moving. He said, “Take it.” The bike was crusty, but too dam pretty. I pulled it out of there and started searching for another one. In my search I found out that the CB series was the start of the rice rocket phenomena. Honda dominated the market almost putting Harley out of business. When I was going to college my business professors often used the CB as an example during discussion. I purchased the bike up for auction in La back in 2001. It is a first year CB, A year before they started mass importing. I love my bike. I would rather ride it than sell it but I do not have the time nor space. I stopped riding the bike back in 06 due to the transmission skipping in and out of third. It is an easy fix but I was looking to do a full rebuild to make as reliable as possible. 1st Year CBMetal headlight bucket One-piece exhaustblue plate bike.comes with lots of extras. One exhaust has a hole. I wanted to open up the exhaust and fabricate a changeable baffle. The seat is smoked. Slight pitting on chrome. Skips in and out of third. I can’t certify mileage. The gauges are after market gauges that where on the bike when I purchased it. Bike comes with the original gauges too. pictures of the bike when clean are from the beginning of July 2010 when I rode the bike to the storage shed where it now resides.
