Vehicle Detail
Get ready for fun driving this spring and summer! 1938 all-steel Chevrolet Master Deluxe 5-window coupe. Owned this car for about 25 years. Always stored inside. Original motor and transmission. The original Master Deluxe rear-end was 422:1. Changed it out to a 1938 Master rear-end which is 373:1 for highway speeds and fuel efficiency. Plenty of power. Engine has been professionally rebuilt top to bottom with hardened valves to burn unleaded gas, line-bored (no bavitted rods), new dome pistons, molly rings. Installed oil pump while leaving the oil slingers in. Rebuilt at Freedom Engine Rebuilders in Freedom, Wis., which specializes in older cars. Transmission has been rebuilt. Wiring harness is exact reproduction. Original grill has never been rechromed. Hampton Coach headliner put in professionally. GM original bumpers have been rechromed. All brakes work great, including the hand brake. All have been rebuilt with master cylinder, wheel cylinders, lines, shoes. Trunk has oak floor. Reupholstered seats. Car has been disassembled, sand-blasted, metal etched. Body work and paint was done by a professional. I have another fan belt, fuel pump and water pump. These are new or rebuilt parts. I'm sure I am leaving out some details so feel free to contact me if you have any questions. This is a used car so it does not come with a warranty and is sold as is. I will require a deposit of $500 within 48 hours and full payment within 7 days. If you don't have the money or financing to buy this car please don't bid on it. There's a new horn relay for the trumpet horns. A smaller horn is a standard Chevrolet horn and it works fine. The oldest trouble light I've ever seen is a piece with the wooden handle and light bulb. It plugs into the cigarette lighter and works. The stainless steel piece on the back window makes it into a split window and was on the car when I bought it. It's easy to remove. There is a GM water pump that is new or rebuilt. There's a hand crank and lug wrench. The tip of the lug wrench is in excellent condition for taking off hubcaps. There's an extra set of new points. There's a radio box and tuner and speaker. There's also a small fan. Several bumper brackets are good candidates for rechroming. Two original taillight trim rings. Two stainless steel trim pieces for the Master Deluxe running boards still have the blue protective covering on them. There's a center hood trim piece that is in mint condition. I think it is an original piece. Searched for over three years to find that piece and my heart almost stopped when I found it at the Iola car show. The hood needs to be realigned and that center piece will make it look like a million bucks! There's a chrome steering wheel horn ring that is not made for a 1938 Chev but it looks close and could be modified to work. There are running boards for the Master Deluxe along with new rubber mats. The stainless trim strips mentioned above go on these running boards. The running boards are in great condition and original. There is another original windshield wiper vacuum motor that will be included. Yesterday I put in a new 6-volt battery, new plugs and changed the oil with 10W30 Pennzoil. I'll try to install the heater switch before the car is picked up. I installed the hoses to the heater core. If you have any questions or would like photos of these pieces, please e-mail me.
