Vehicle Detail
Up for auction is a 1984 Pontiac Grand Prix. We are the third owners of the car. The most recent owner bought the car in 1986. This car has been garage/carport kept for its entire life. The previous owner, upon purchasing the car, had the seats covered in plastic (I took it off). Since it was only his wife and him, the back seat never got used. As you can see in the pictures, the interior is like new. Only items that need attention in the interior is the original front driver side floor mat shows a lot of wear, and the chrome knob that operates the A/C is broken (but enough of the stalk remains to easily adjust the blower controls (knob in glove box). For the most part, the interior is like brand new. Dash is near perfect with no warping/cracking of the dash or any panels. All gauges work well. The A/C blows cold, and sometimes the upper vents don't come on immediately and it takes a bit for the vacuum to build up to open the vents. Original Am/FM radio cassette plays great. The exterior is in excellent shape, as you can see in the pictures. Some of the plastic around the rear turn signals is faded, but not broken or damaged panels or trim. Car has a few nicks and smudges, but are few and far between. Since the car has been out of the weather, the glass is in super shape. No acid rain etching or nothing. Super glass. Radio antenna is in the front glass. Small pebble sized crack in the bottom left corner of front glass exists though. Rocker chrome is in fabulous shape. Did have 'Pontiac mudflaps', but I removed them. They are in the truck though. I spent about 15 hours waxing and compounding the car, and she lines better than most new cars. With the few upgrades that have been done, she drives very well. Starts up easy, and shuts off quickly. The catalytic converter is a little noisy when she is cold. Stops on a dime, and does not pull. You can let the steering wheel go at 70 and she drives straight as an arrow. Slight rear seal engine oil leak. Besides the one pipe replaced, rest of the exhaust is original to the car. Cruise control works great. All 4 tires have plenty of tread and look like new. I do not believe they have much mileage on them at all. Clear NC title in hand. We purchased the car in July of 2010 and completed the following upgrades: - New brakes all the way around, new rotors up front and new front axle bearings. - New transmission speedometer cable. - All New seals in the transmission. - New shocks. - New exhaust pipe from catalytic converter to the muffler. - New headliner and visors. - Complete tune-up (plugs, wires, cap, etc.) - New valve cover gaskets. The pictures speak for themselves. Best of luck bidding. I have tried to describe this car to the best of my ability and have noted all items that I am aware of at this time. All sales are final. No expressed or implied warranties. I expect $500.00 within 24 hours of auction close, and the balance at time of pick-up. If you wish the car to be shipped, that will be your responsibility, and I will assist as I can.
