Vehicle Detail

For sale is a restored 1969 Dodge Charger R/T SE in the rare Q5 Metallic Turquoise color. This vehicle has been certified by Galen Govier. I purchased this vehicle in the Dallas, TX area several years ago in a mostly restored state, and it has been a restoration of love ever since. Items I've restored since assuming ownership of this classic includes the steering wheel and shifter knob, the entire rear axle housing (to include brake lines, hoses and fittings), brake backing plates, drums and brakes, instrument cluster, trunk and trunk accessories, I had the original AM/8-track radio restored to a fully functional state, and restored the front sway bar. Many other smaller items have been restored as well. Every item on this vehicle is 100% functional WITHOUT EXCEPTION to include the 440ci engine and 727 transmission, turn signals, horn, headlight/taillights, wipers, windshield washer pump, choke, all gauges (speedometer, dash clock, ammeter, oil pressure gauge, coolant temperature gauge, fan switch, interior temperature controls, flashers, dome light, hood & trunk release, and the interior lights. The trunk has also been fully restored and includes a new Coker bias ply tire on the original factory steel spare rim, a restored jack assembly, and a factory correct trunk mat. Also included in this auction is a new INTERIOR Custom California Car Cover with custom embroidery, a factory service manual, a Charger restoration guide, and a new chromed plastic I-piece for the front grill. I installed some new Centerline Alloy wheels with BF Goodrich tires up front, and 295 Goodyear tires in the rear, but I also have the original factory magnum wheels with new Coker redline bias ply tires which are also included in the auction. I also purchased a new factory-appearance Group 29 red-top battery, but forgot to keep it on a trickle charger and it is sulfated and no longer functional, but can be installed at car shows for a complete factory appearance underhood. The car now has a new battery out of a Dodge Ram SRT10. Vehicle has approximately 2300 miles since the engine overhaul. I have a folder containing all the records I received when I purchased this car from the previous restoration, and have added many receipts since that time. The car handles fantastically, and accelerates very quickly, but I have never taken it to a track to check a 1/4 mile time. I took it out to the freeway a couple months ago and shot a couple videos accelerating from a dead stop which are posted on You Tube. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xWpQr2A8gVU http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=swjsx23ogq4 I have several additional photos and can email them upon request, but you must be specific in what you want to see. I have too many photos to just "Email me everything you've got". The paint is in excellent condition but there are some rare minor paint defects and bubbles which have been present since I got the car, and some paint has peeled off the inside of the driver's fenderwell under the brake master cylinder which was all present when I got the car (I assume due to spilled brake fluid?). Although these quotes aren't as reliable as they were before the onset of our current recession, the current value at the NADA web site is $27,300 for average condition, and up to $47,600 for excellent condition. The value of this vehicle is somewhere in between. http://www.nadaguides.com/Classic-Cars/1969/Dodge/Charger-R-T/2-Door-Hardtop-440/Values The reason for selling is that I purchased a new 2010 Dodge Challenger SRT8 (Plum Crazy Purple) back in September and am ready to install a 3.6L Kenne Bell superchager in it, and I need the garage space. This car has never been left outdoors since I got it, and I'm unwilling to pull it outside to make room for the Challenger. I've been paying storage insurance, North Carolina tax and registration for the last two years, but just not logging any miles except to car shows where it has won a trophy at every show it's been entered into. I fear it is time to move on and hand it down to the next owner to enjoy and continue the restoration. Don't hesitate to ask any questions. On Mar-05-11 at 06:10:05 PST, seller added the following information: Last day of the auction... if you're worried this car is not genuine, let me remind you that this vehicle has been certified genuine by Galen Govier who is the leading authority in the world for verifying the pedigree of MOPARs. The engine and transmission are original 1969 items, but are not numbers matching to this car. I really wish they were, having a matching numbers car was not as important to me when I purchased it as it appears to be to everyone else. This is a very powerful mucle car that is a blast to drive and admire and is the showcase of my collection. Good luck to all.On Mar-05-11 at 06:48:18 PST, seller added the following information: If you insist on a numbers matching 1969 Turquoise Charger R/T, here's a link to one, and it's only $20,000 more, it's NOT an SE, but it is numbers matching! http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Dodge-Charger_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trkparmsZalgoQ3dSIQ26ituQ3dUCIQ252BUAQ252BFICSQ26otnQ3d10Q26pmodQ3d120690085262Q252B380313181158Q26poQ3dLVIQ26psQ3d63Q26clkidQ3d7523177014985478277QQ_trksidZp5197Q2em263QQcategoryZ6199QQitemZ260746495992
