Vehicle Detail
Many new plastic parts have been added to bring this 1995 PC800 back to very good overall condition. I have two PC800s and need to find a good home for the 95. The bike has been gone over mechanically and has had the following work completed over the past year: New front and rear Dunlop tires (about 1500-2000 miles on the tires)New front and rear brakesNew Honda OEM short windshield (Hondaline Tall windshield in the picture is no longer available)New front brake lines, brake fluid flushed and filledAll radiator hoses replaced, coolant refilled, thermostat replacedFork seals replaced, fork oil replacedCarbs cleaned, rebuilt and synchedNew carb insulators, new spark plugsAir Filter, oil filter and oil replacedChoke cable and throttle cables replacedWheel bearings replacedRear gear oil changed, spline lubedHandlebar end weights replacedTurn signal, run/stop switch, and start button replacedPowerlet socket direct wired from battery located below left dash pocketReplacement OEM toolkit and owners manual with storage pouchNice Guardian cover When I got this bike last year, many of the plastic pieces were cracked or had tabs broken or missing. I have replaced the front disk covers, front fender, meter panel, upper and lower handlebar covers, meter cover, speaker panel, left and right cowling, left and right inspection covers, left and right mirror housings and left and right side covers. The left and right lower side covers have been repaired and repainted the OEM silver color from ColorRite but could stand to be replaced if you care about bringing the plastic back to like new condition. The left lower side cover has a noticeable crack that has been fused back together with Plastisol and repainted. The rear tail and trunk pieces are about 8/10 with some paint fading and visible adhesive spots from the previous owner's pinstriping tape which was removed. The shelter piece is about 8/10 with some noticeable white flecks on the black paint from light scratching. The front valve stem needs to be rotated 180 degrees as it was put in backwards when the tires were mounted - it doesn't impact the wearability of the tires or operation, but needs to be done at some point. Camshaft plugs (a frequent source of oil leaks on this model) were replaced by a previous owner. The battery was replaced last year by the previous owner. The seats are in good shape and were recovered at some point in the past by a professional upholsterer (his business card is stapled under the seat). The AirHawk cushion that you see in the picture is not included with the bike but I highly recommend you get one for yourself if you plan on doing any long rides - the stock seat is very comfortable but I wanted a little more height adjustment and I find the seat a bit slippery without the AirHawk cushion when I'm wearing my Aerostich riding suit. The RAM ball mount on the clutch reservoir will also be removed prior to sale. The left side of the fairing near where the inspection cover matches up with the cowling and meter panel has a slight gap that likes to open up from time to time - the new plastic pieces could probably stand to be heated slightly and pushed together to get them to be better friends. The underside of the front and rear guards have slight scratches but nothing worthy of replacement. Mechanically the bike is in very good condition and has been my daily commuter for the past year. Mileage will continue to climb somewhat as I do ride this bike every day unless there is a lot of ice on the road. The bike was state safety inspected last July by a local Honda dealer - the mechanic commented that the bike was in great shape. Although I did a lot of work on the bike, the main reason I wanted it was that once you have it set up it is pretty much bombproof - no worries with chain lubing, valve adjusting, etc. Cleaning the bike is a shot or two of Pledge with a microfiber cloth - this isn't a bike for those who like to spend their time wrenching or polishing chrome! The shaft drive is smooth and the transmission works well. The water cooled engine and fairing design provide a nice quiet ride and good protection from the elements. I have ridden the bike this Winter in morning commutes where the temperature was as low as 16 degrees and the bike started great even though parked out in front of my townhouse protected only with a good cover. The bike has a reasonable starting bid and no reserve - I wouldn't hesitate to ride this bike anywhere. I am located approximately 10 miles from Dulles International Airport and will be happy to pick you up if you want to fly in and ride the bike back home. I will consider delivering the bike within 200 miles of ZIP code 20147 for $2 per mile or will be happy to work with a shipper of your choice. The price of the parts I have put into this bike alone mean that I will be losing money on this deal, but I want the bike to find a good home with someone who will continue to ride it frequently. The other PC I have is in a little better overall condition with less mileage and I want to start using it as my daily commuter to replace the 95. NOTE ADDED 2-26-2011: Lots of viewers and watchers, some questions and interest but bidders are shy - probably because everyone likes to bid at the last minute, but I want to make sure that this bike gets an owner that is going to love her as much as I have so I have reduced the starting bid price to $2000. A crazy move on my part, but I need to spend more time on my other PC and with Spring riding weather fast approaching this bike needs a new home.
