Oh, did I mention it gets 33+ Miles Per Gallon. FIRST IMPRESSION: At first glance, this Car is a Looker. The Red Exterior is Beautiful on this body style. The rounding on the rear is bubble-like looking nice. The rear Spoiler to the Sunroof make this Sporty Car fun to drive. Exterior: With the previous body style, This Eclipse is a great looking Sporty car. These little import cars are becomingly increasingly popular. The Sleek lines and body moldings give a nice shape to this coupe. The Red Paint looks really Sassy without being too "prissy" . The front and rear bumpers are painted to match the body of the car as are the door handles. This car shows some very minor normal wear. You will notice that the paint looks different on the door panels, it appears to have been repainted. The Carfax shows no accidents so we believe that the paint was for touch up since there are no signs of body work or filler. This is also much less noticeable in person than in the pictures. There are a lot of little extras that add to the look of this car. Front Fog Lights, 16" Upgraded Alloy Wheels, Side Body Moldings, and a Rear Spoiler. There is a Fully Power Sunroof that as you can see in the pictures. You can pop up the sunroof to vent or open it up to let the sun shine in! The Front bumper houses the front license plate bracket. There is some visible road rash from small rocks on the front hood and bumper and there is some chipping on the wipers, minor but I want to mention. There is also a yellow scrape on the very bottom, it would appear that someone parked too close to the parking marker. The Sides have a body moldings. There has been some wear in the black above the doors, however it has been touched up as well. The Rear of the car has the rounded end. This makes the Eclipse look really sporty and adds flare. The brakes lights go across the back with “Eclipse” in the center. There are reverse lights in the lower bumper. You will also notice an aftermarket muffler to add to the visual appeal of this Mitsubishi. The Alloy Wheels are in Good Condition with very minor curb chew, however there is some oxidation. The tires are new P205/60/r16 and just passed the rigorous VA State Safety Inspection. Overall, the Exterior Condition of this Eclipse is in Average Condition. There are some minor flaws, as mentioned, to be expected. Overall, the exterior condition is slightly better than what I would expect for this year. It is a pretty coupe and priced according to the condition. If you have reasonable expectations, you will be pleasantly surprisedJ Interior: The Overall Interior of this Eclipse is about what I would expect. The upholstery is tan sport cloth with matching carpet and trim. The 2 front bucket seats are multi adjustable. Both seats flip forward and slide up for surprisingly easy rear seat entry and exit. The passenger seat is quick entry/exit with a single lever. The upholstery in this Eclipse could use some love. There is light staining in places. Fortunately, the pattern in the sport cloth hides a lot. I also notice burn marks which is odd because the car does not smell like it has been smoked in at all. The rear bench seat will accommodate two more riders and folds down for more cargo space in the trunk. You can flip the rear seat back down in two sections for customized cargo/passenger space. Overhead there are homelink garage opener controls on the bottom side of the driver visor. There is also the fully powered sun roof here too. A few notes here, the headliner is very dirty and has many burn holes, again, weird because this coupe does not smell like smoke. Also the sunshade has come out at some point, it is in the trunk. The driver side door has all power controls for the windows and power door locks. There are large storage bins in each of the front doors. This Eclipse also has a remote release for the trunk. I do want to mention that the trunk release must be held in place to lift the hatch. The rear bench seat can seat 2 more adults. The center console houses the climate controls, a cup holder, center console, and more! There is also an Upgraded Aftermarket Pioneer Audio system to include a CD Player and AM FM Tuner. There is some chipping and rust around the cigarette lighter. The rear cargo area is super large. You can put a ton of stuff back here especially if you fold down the back seats. The carpets are stained back here. There is an armrest storage between the front seats. It has an additional cupholder in it. Included with this Mitsubishi Eclipse is one key. I think that a remote key fob can be added. A few things to mention about this Eclipse. There is a door lock situation. There are power door locks and they seem to be powered properly. However, there is no key hole on the outside of the driver door. The cylinder is not there. I think if this was fixed the power locks would work correctly and there could probably be a keyless entry fob added. Also, the trim piece on the inside of the passenger side rear view mirror is missing. Overall, this interior of this Mitsubishi could use some love. However, it is very comfortable and easy to drive. Under the Hood: This Mitsubishi Eclipse generates 140-horsepower at 6000 RPM and 130 pounds of torque at 4800 RPM's. The manual transmission allows for 23+ MPG in the city and 33+ MPG on the highway. VA State Safety Inspected valid thru 2/2012! Driving Impressions: This 1998 Mitsubishi Eclipse is super Fun to Drive. With the fun to drive stick shift and the maneuverability of this Eclipse, it is just exciting. The sporty look is a true attention getter! Mechanically, this car is in great condition. There are a few cosmetic imperfections, as noted above. The AC blows Icy Cold and the operating features all seem to work as they should, unless mentioned above.
