This is a 1978 VW Westfalia, Westy, bus that is powered by a 2.8 liter V6 Ford engine. That's right! a Ford engine. The bump out you see in the rear is the radiator. The conversion looks as if VW had done it. It is in front of the stock VW automatic transmission. The odometer shows just over 58,000, but assume that it's over 100,000 miles. The bus runs great! It’s an absolute joy to drive with all the additional power. It even has a Class III trailer hitch so that you can tow a light trailer. A real head turner at car shows and VW rallys. The only negative is that it handles like a 1978 VW bus! The bus has been an Arizona bus all of its life so rust is not an issue. The body is in pretty good shape for it’s age. Not all banged up. Like any other vintage vehicle from Arizona, it was repainted some years ago and could use another paint job. The tires are good and the brakes are good but could be bled. The interior is in pretty good shape also. It is complete with the propane stove, stainless sink with water pump, screen for the rear hatch, childs bunk (that fits over the front seats), room darkening cover (that fits on the inside of the windshield and side doors), and it even has the original dining table! The interior is in decent shape, not all worn or torn up except for the seat cover on the drivers seat. It has an aftermarket stereo with CD player that really sounds like crap. Could use some better speakers. Also has a CB radio. The pop up canvas has a couple of wear spots but nothing that would require it to be immediately replaced.
