1955 Thunderbird with 5,510 title documented actual miles. This first generation Thunderbird appears as if its been kept in a time capsule! From its delightful chrome bumper and eggcrate grill to its flashy taillights & dual exhaust bezels its first class all the way. It carries the #’s matching 292 Y block V8 and 3 speed manual transmission. The engine has less than 500 miles on it since rebuild which was done locally and professionally. It runs and drives like a dream and is in very nice condition. The engine and engine compartment are clean and all parts are new or in like new shape. New battery, cables, hoses, belts, etc. The Thunderbird valve covers and chrome air cleaner are really clean and represent a bygone era. It remains an original 6 volt system although the valves were updated to burn unleaded fuel without having to use additive. It comes in the original Thunderbird blue and has rare factory power windows and a 4 way power bench seat. The interior is Aquatone blue. The power seat is not working but we think that the wires may not be connected. The steering wheel is telescoping with a great chrome housing. Everything on this car is nice and has most of its original equipment indicating its low miles status. The Thunderbird blue paint has just the right amount of patina for its age and no visible rust. The underside is clean and solid with the original paint showing in good condition as you can see in the photos. The trunk is clean and solid. There’s plenty of room even while holding a new spare 15” tire. A flip up fuel door in the trunk lid lets you fuel up with the trunk open or closed. As you see in the photos the gas tank is new. Brakes both front and rear are drums. This is not a show car, it does have its imperfections. It is a driver. The gauges are in amazingly clear and unscratched. The speedometer illuminates clearly and looks like it must have when new! At the side of the speedometer you will find a tachometer and clock that are both in working order. All instruments are working except for the radio which could be either a fuse or tube. There is no fading or cracking on the dash. The carpet is in excellent shape and still has what looks to be the original vinyl floor mats with the Thunderbird emblem. Pedals are in good shape and similar to the floor mats they show very little wear and indicate original equipment and low miles. The 4 way power seat is comfortable and in nice shape however there is some wear on the drivers side and we will include a new cover from NPD at no extra charge. A cupholder-console has been added to the interior floor but is not hard mounted and can be very easily removed. All emblems and chrome are very nice. They have plenty of luster and no rust. The car comes with 2 tops - a shay white hard top with portholes and a white folding convertible top that is in like new condition with small pinch on drivers side less than ½ inch long. The rear window has no cracking or yellowing. The top stows away behind the seat. This 1955 Ford Thunderbird comes with clear Florida title stating 5,510 actual miles. It comes with engine rebuild documentation and photos as well as a factory owners manual and electrical equipment installation manual from National Parts Depot. A numbers matching 3 speed manual transmission is also included and will ship with the vehicle. The odometer is currently disconnected as the cable does not fit with the installed transmission, however the included numbers matching transmission will correct this problem.
