Vehicle Detail
Tatsiana wears a timeless Hermes scarf, Christian Louboutin shoes, and she stands next to a Signal Red 1964 Porsche 356C/1600 Karmann Coupe. This black-plated California Porsche is a prime example of a rust-free car: original floors, flawless gaps, the German factory spot welds in pristine original condition (one cannot inspect this undercarriage without being amazed by the hand-built craftsmanship of these cars). New 6407 base/clear paint, new interior, new tires, new suspension bushings, new body rubbers, etc. -- too much to list. The engine was specially built by Stoddard, and the number's-matching case and heads are also included. The original owner's manual, an extensive oil-change record book, and two thick folders of service records and meticulous hand-written owner notes accompany the car -- an exhaustive history of this 356C. The attached draft copy (official certificate arrives next week) of the Porsche Certificate of Authenticity (COA) verifies its originality: Engine Case # 710173; Transmission # 70325; Signal Red/6407; Black Leatherette/B interior. I purchased this car from a retired United Airlines pilot, and it drove so well we felt obligated to restore it the way it deserved to be -- as you see it here: A truly excellent Porsche, ready for your enjoyment. We cleaned the undercarriage with a dry-ice blaster, an amazing non-abrasive process which removes every speck of undercoating and build-up without damaging anything. Afterwards, one can see every tight thread and every edge of each original nut and bolt. One can also inspect every single original spot weld. We then sealed the undercarriage with DP40 epoxy primer, an extremely durable and long-lasting rust protection. We elected to finish our California black-plated cars this way because undercoating is so widely used to hide rust and shoddy welding of replaced floors. This way you can see clearly for yourself what you are buying. Later, if the buyer wants, we can undercoat the car for a small additional cost. Please download a few undercarriage pictures from the attached web album and zoom in closely on the spot welds: The original floor welds you see are the foundation -- and a direct indicator -- of the overall quality of this rust-free car. Thanks again for looking.
