Vehicle Detail

GENUINE MALIBU SS, 327 CU IN, ORIGINALLY 4 SPEED, RUST FREE CALIFORNIA CAR This car is an unrestored, lightly modified and hot-rodded survivor. The BAD News: Originally a 327 California car with a 4 speed manual transmission, the car was “improved” by the previous owner. A 396 big block, a TH-350 automatic with a B&M shifter, and front disc brakes were installed. Also in typical ‘roddin fashion it sports ’70s Camaro bucket seats, Vega (?) steering wheel, ‘80s Camaro alloy rims, and Sunpro tach, temp, amp, oil gauges. The only body damage is due to a blow out of the left rear tire, this incident wrinkled the fender lip. The only (small) rust spot is on the left “C” pillar behind the rear quarter window. Both of these areas are in the photos and are very easily repairable. The car may need a starter. Exhaust will need some work. No radio. That’s it! The GOOD News: The car is STRAIGHT STRAIGHT STRAIGHT! The car is rust FREE FREE FREE! Seriously, the original beige acrylic laquer paint is still on the car! I started peeling it off with a razor to see if there was any bondo anywhere, there is NONE! Virtually zero body work required! The car obviously needs paint as it is beige/primer J The big block has been replaced with a non-original, period correct 327 cu in mild performance engine. The automatic transmission and B&M shifter have remained installed. The front disc brakes work great and are an excellent upgrade! The rear end is a 12 bolt posi-track differential from a later year Chevelle. The Camaro rims actually look very good and are a nice upgrade. I do have a pair of perfect, correct front bucket seats that go with the car – check out the pictures. The dash and instruments are in good condition and will clean up nicely. The rear seats will probably also clean up fine. The headliner and panels will probably need to be cleaned/repaired or replaced. All of the “improvements” that have been done to the car are easily reversible if you want originality, or use this as a basis for a great hot-rodding project! This car is a very easy project as it is so straight, rust free, and original. I also have the original front and rear “Black” CA license plates. · Engine # T0425 HCH (Tonawada assembly plant, build date 25 April, code HCH) · 327 cu in · “Double hump” cylinder heads · Holley 4 barrel carburetor · Edelbrock aluminum intake manifold · GM HEI electronic ignition · Chrome valve covers Odomoter mileage 58,883 Title mileage 100,000+ True mileage unknown? I have too many projects – as usual, and have to thin the herd a little, this is not a distressed sale. The car is complete, the pictures show all the extra trim bits and pieces that go with the car. I will also be throwing into the trunk a variety of other muscle car stuff from other projects (cams, distributors, carbs, etc). Bid with confidence, this is an awesome car J
