Vehicle Detail
Hi, Up for sale is my 1967 Porsche 912. I have had this car for approx 7 years. It has the original color interior/exterior. As seen in the pics this is a very clean car. All the chrome and glass are in excellent shape. Nothing has been cut inside the car. The interior is stunning. Original Blaupunkt and speaker. All seats look good as well as headliner. Domelights and dashlights work great. Dash is coming up in a few spots. I took carpet up when I did the shifter couplings and the floor looked great with no rust. I have taken detailed pics of the only spot on this car where I could find a visible rust problem which is under where the spare tire sits. All doors are tight with no sag. I just put in a new speedo cable and shifter bushings. The car shifts nice thru all 4 gears. Tires are 205 60 R14. This car has a header type exhaust system which means NO HEAT. A system can be added later if you so desire. When I purchased this the motor was getting tired. I wanted a professional rebuild from a reputable builder but I was getting estimates from 5 to 6 thousand mostly because of hard to find parts. This Porsche is outfitted with a completely rebuilt Porsche 2.0 type 4 motor. I have reciepts for almost 4000 from NW Connecting Rods in Seattle. Porsche chose this motor for use in the 914 and Porsche 912E. Since this motor was fitted in this car with the 912E it was a fairly simple coversion. You instantly gain efficiency and ease of maintenance. Parts are readily available and inexpensive. With this motor you are enjoying tremendous torque, while keeping it very reliable and fast. There was no cutting to accomodate this motor. It can easily be removed and a 912 motor can be put back in if so desired. The original motor does not come with this car. You could by another 912 with 90k + miles and have to spend many thousands to get the motor built later on. The type 4 conversion is farily common with lots of info on the internet. Some stats on this motor include: 96mm big bore, polished crank, cam web #86 270 degree 423 lift compression ratio 7.9 to 1.Weber IDF 40's The body on this car is not perfect. It has multiple dings on pass door and peeling on the roof. The faint is faded in spots. From 12 ft away it looks good. This car is always kept in the garage and taken out on nice days. It is a blast to drive and turns many heads. The performance motor sounds great. I was going to paint it in the future but have been putting if off. Don't get me wrong the car still looks great and is an attention getter I just don't to make it out as nice paint when it needs work. I wanted to keep this car for my kids but am now building a house and the wife said I need to sell some toys. I will miss this car as I love to drive it on nice days and cruise the countryside. I have bought and sold other cars on ebay and have kept my feedback at 100. This is because I don't sell junk, take care of my things, and do not try to make them out to be anything other that what they are. As far as problems the original radio is currently not working. The previous had it worked on and then month later went out. The lights only work on bright (needs a new switch), which is how I run them at night. The rear license plate lights are new but not hooked up. Dash is coming up in a few spots. Rust hole neat front tow hook under spare tire. Part of the seat tucked around the recliner is coming out. I have a lot into this car but am realistic and have followed 912's for years on ebay. I have the reserve set below 8 and I am sure this car will make someone very happy. This is a gorgeous practically rust free car. If you want something to get in and drive with no problems for many years this is car for you. A 912 with the power of the early 911's. If you want to restore it to original you are working with a beautiful example that you won't need to put tons of money in because of the shape its in. Pasco is in Eastern Wa. 4 hrs east of Portland and 2 hrs North of Spokane. I do not mind holding car for a couple of weeks once it is paid in full. Although I am out of town March 1st thru the 14th. A 500 dollar non refundable deposit is due within 48 hrs of auction end thru Paypal Only. If you have less than 10 feedback or excessive negative feedback please contact me first with an explanation or I will reject your bid and you will be no longer able to bid on this car. NO INTERNATIONAL BIDDERS. US only SORRY. If the winning bidder does not deposit money within 48 hrs the item will be relisted and appropriate negative feedback will be left. This is an old car and is being sold AS IS NO WARRANTY. Good luck and happy bidding. On Feb-12-11 at 08:44:50 PST, seller added the following information: This car is a 4 spd.
