We have known this car for many years; it came from the mother of a local car dealer and has always been adult driven. The 300TE is a perfect balance of the 3.2 liter drive-train and W124 front grill. We believe the floor mats were installed when we took delivery from elderly owner’s son. I am selling this car for my dad. We are NOT dealers; we tend to collect cars that are in fantastic condition, but are not so perfect they cannot be driven. This has got to be one of the best surviving W124 wagons in existence and is in overall Excellent Condition. It is not likely you will find a better 300TE anywhere! If you are not familiar with the W124 wagon, you will be surprised at how smooth these cars travel down the road. The 3.2 liter engine packs a very powerful punch and can easily overtake many cars on the road. These cars start to really shine around 70-80 miles per hour where the gearing makes these cars astonishingly quick. The performance and handling of this rare 300TE will not disappoint. These cars have developed somewhat of a cult following because of they are so powerful, comfortable, and reliable. This particular 300TE features the very rare Signal Red exterior with a very rich Tan interior; the photos show the interior to be a lot lighter than it actually is. The interior is actually a darker tan than the photos show. The combination is stunning to say the least. We have owned eleven W124 Mercedes. We have looked at many cars in the Midwest and this is by far the very best 300TE in the very rare Signal Red/Tan we have found. Purchase of low mileage W124 Sportline coupe and extremely rare W124 factory 5-speed convertible is the only reason this car is available. We have set the reserve at a very reasonable $6,000 which is below our purchase price. If this car does not meet the reserve it simply will not be sold, this car is definitely worth keeping. All systems are functioning perfectly except for the pneumatic tailgate, which will not stay up without assistance and will not automatically pull closed (but shuts fine otherwise). Also, the rear tailgate has a trim piece that has been repainted and does not completely match the rest of the car (see picture). There are also some touched up rock chips on the hood (see pictures). Overall, this car is in fantastic condition and has been well cared for in its 71,000 mile life. This 300TE does not appear to have ever sat in the sun. We have not had the AC on since the summer, but it was working properly at the time blowing ICE COLD! We are not aware of any mechanical problems with this car as it drives straight and true without unusual noises, vibrations, drifting, or braking problems.
