Don't miss this wonderful panel Truck !!!!!!! This listing is for the sale of a really cool 1956 Ford F100 Panel Truck. It could be a long time before you will find this quality of an original panel truck again. This is an excellent vehicle that could be used for films, or to promote your business such as driving it around with your company logo or sitting it in front of your retail location. I have a little more history on this truck than what I had known when I originally listed this for sale . This truck was donated to the Godfrey Illinois Fire Dept. in the early 60's and kept in service until mid 70's. It was used by the Fire Chief as a extra utility vehicle and as a small fire ( such as a brush fire) equipment hauler. It is told to me that it then went to another small town Illinois Fire Dept. and later traded in at a local Ford dealer and subsequently sold to a family member of the Ford dealer and kept for many years in it's current condition. We all know how Fire Departments maintain their vehicles. I believe it to have it's original 6 cyl. engine and 3 speed manual transmission. The front seats have been recovered and the interior is painted and clean. It is not beat up inside. Diamond plate steel has been installed over it's original wood floor to give it strength for hauling and could be removed easily and the wood floor replaced if you wanted to put it back to it's original look on the floor inside. The paint is a # 6-7 on a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the highest. There are a few chips but nothing major. The interior is an 8-9 as it is very nice including the dash and instrument panel. Most of the chrome is original. there is some pitting in the emblems and tailight bezels which is expected for it's age but still show well. About the only major detraction is a cracked windshield on the rh side. No, it does not have power steering and or power brakes but it does have wipers which operate. All the dash gauges work great as does the idiot lights and speedometer. The engine runs good, burns a little oil and has a good clutch and trans. It drives good and attains speeds up to 50 miles an hour easily but that is about the limit with the rear gears. Since the pics shown were taken we have replaced the rear door handle back to the chrome unit , see last pic. Door locks are new and function properly. The body is straight and has minor paint flaws as noted above. At this time it is good to go and will provide years of enjoyment. At this price point, a very good value and has significant upward appreciation in value, especially if any future improvements are made, but not needed now. It would make an excellent restomod but I would really like to see someone preserve it's current orignal type condition. It has been repainted as when the fire dept. got it donated to them it was a very light green . NO (0) feedback bidders unless you have called me first with your intent to purchase.
