Vehicle Detail
Up for your consideration is this complete 1969 Volkswagon Type III Fastback. The odometer shows 89,696 total miles. Not sure if it is really 189,696 miles or more. I am providing a number of pictures which should tell the story of the condition of the car. It has been in a minor left front fender bender and the previous owner attempted to straighten out the original fender. No damage to sub frame. Multiple pictures showing that the damage was only to the fender, which can be unbolted and replaced. It still retains its original light blue paint job, minus the primered left front fender. Front lights and turn signals included. left front turn signal included, not installed. The rear brake lights are present, the left lense is missing. All other body panels appear to be in good shape overall, with a few minor dents on the hood, which again, the previous owner has attempted to straighten. As you can see in the photos, the doors line up, body panels are straight and line up. All original glass is present. Front windshield is cracked and will need to be replaced. Both windows roll up and down fine. The car is riding on a set of Billet Aluminum Centerline Racing Wheels. These were the BOMB back in the day. There is a complete set of 4. The right rear tire went flat and the spare is on the car to move it around. The Centerline rim is being stored in the rear trunk. The interior is complete, minus the headliner, which is missing. The previous owner installed a set of fully function Honda Prelude bucket seats. I do not have the original front seats, not included. The rear bench seat is original to the car and even has the center arm rest. Door and rear trim panels are present, just not covered. The stick shift has been replaced with a Bugpack shift kit. Original steering wheel and original VDO gauges in the dash. The dash cover is original and uncracked, just dirty, as seen in the photos. Dash is uncut and includes original ashtray and all knobs. Locking glovebox. The battery tray is original and as shown in the photos, only surface rust which will wipe clean is present. No holes in the battery compartment. All electrical wires seem to present, but do need some sorting and attention. The floorpan is original, solid and completely rust free, minus some surface rust which can be wiped clean. The car comes with a complete black carpet kit, which includes the interior carpet, front trunk area and rear trunk area over the engine. Also shown is a brand new, in the package, set of TMI roof mounted sunvisors. Also included are a number of items from the famous Johnny's Speed and Chrome shop in Buena Park. The items are brand new and still in original packaging. Some items can be seen in the photos. The engine is the original, stock 1.6 liter 1600cc fuel injected engine. The engine turns freely and ran before being parked, many years ago. I have not attempted to start it. I will assume the transmission is stock as well. The exhaust is a custom wrap around/tucked exhaust with the muffler exiting at the right rear tire. I purchased the car to restore it. Unfortunately, times being as they are, I must let this project go, as I will not be able to complete it. My loss, your gain. The car is being sold with a BILL OF SALE and accompanying paperwork to transfer ownership, signed by the previous owner. The original title has been lost by the previous owner. I have researched the DMV, and the car has back fees due in excess of $500, since the car has not been registered since 2005. Unsure of the Title - clear or otherwise. The new owner will need to bring the fees current in order for a new title to be issued, or the new owner can wait until the car is out of the DMV system, which should be within a year or title and register the car in another state. Again, the new owner can decide. The car is being offered and sold "AS IS, WHERE IT IS" with no warranty, expressed or implied. New owner will assume full responsability of making the vehicle road worthy again. The car will need to be towed or trailered. N.A.D.A. Blue Book Low Retail Value is $3,575. Please feel free to ask questions. The opening bid is $500.00 with no reserve. Car will be sold within 7 days, either by BUY IT NOW, Best Offer or highest bidder. For the auction, a $300.00 non-refundable deposit is due within 24 hours and balance in cash is due within 3 days of the auction ending. The car must be picked up when paid for, unless other arrangements have been agreed upon prior to the auction ending. I have the car listed locally for $1,600.00 or Best Offer. Cash talks, and I will listen to all reasonable offers. Not looking to trade anything for the car. Please feel free to text me an offer, questions, or request a time to come see the car in person.
