Vehicle Detail
1961 Oldsmobile F85 Wagon. This Wagon runs and drives. Aluminum 215 V8 & a 3 speed Slim Jim automatic trans. The motor runs good no knocks or funny noises but does runs a little rough at idle but not bad at all. It does get up and scoot when you hit the gas. The trans shifts in all gears just fine. This wagon is 50 years old. It pretty much is a untouched survivor. It does need a restoration. You could pull it all apart and restore it that way or restore as you drive it. This is a really cool old little car. I wanted to Ratrod it out but thought that it really deserves a stock restore. The wagon is all there as if no one has ever touched it. All stainless steel is intact and in good shape accept one or two dings. The bumpers are straight but need to be re-chromed. It does have a dealer installed air conditioning. The ac unit turns on but it doesn't have a belt on the pump. It does spin freely and it is complete. My guess is it just needs a charge. I have taking this wagon on a few long distance drives. Over a 100 miles and one trip, over 60 miles on another as well as loads of around town use since I have owned it. It does have some rust in the lower fenders and one spot behind the driver rear door and a real small spot behind the pass rear door. The floor pans, the spare tire storage trunk as well as the rear quarters are solid. The headliner in is in good shape. The door panels are all there but are wavy. The seats are in good shape but are coming apart at the seams in some places. The carpet is shot and will need to be replaced. All door glass is good but the windsheild has a crack in it. Again this car is 50 years old and I think it is in good shape as it really hasn't been touched, chopped or hacked. It still has all the hub caps as well as new tires. It also has a new single exhaust and new muffler. All lights outside, brakes, blinkers, running lights still work. Some interior dash lights are buned out as well as the dome light. Even the heater fan and the factory am radio still works. Please know want you are bidding on here before you place your bid. This is a 50 year old car. I will show this car locally if needed. Please know that this isn't a perfect wagon but a great old car to have fun with.On Feb-04-11 at 08:12:46 PST, seller added the following information: Factory original aluminum 215 V8 with original rare 4 barrel carburetor. On Feb-09-11 at 16:12:42 PST, seller added the following information: The miles reads 77,000. I figure it is 177,000 K or more not 10,000.
