The Italian coach builder "SIATA" introduced the Siata Spring in an attempt to enjoy a success similar to the British MG T series cars of the late 40's and 50's. The Spring was built from 1967 to 1973 with a total of just over 3,400 built. It is thought that there may only be 300 left with most residing in Europe. FIAT provided the drive train using the well known 850. This car is an unrestored survivor that as shipped to the U.S. by its original owner approximately 15 years ago. This 1967 model is the only year with a folding windshield and smaller tail lights. This car is in excellent mechanical condition (drives great), it has been repainted once many years ago looking good from 15 feet (numerous scratches, small dent in right rear fender, barely noticeable rust forward of both rear wheels above running board, and minor repaired damage to front bumper and grill), the front end is tight, undercarriage is solid, the original Borani spoke wheels are in excellent condition (just cleaned and painted), the interior is in good original condition with newly reupholstered seats, and the top and curtains are in very good condition. The total mileage is unknown. Recent maintenance includes: newly upholstered seats, cleaned and painted wheels, new tires, repair of two quarter size holes in floor boards, wheel bearings packed, brakes inspected found to be OK, and all fluids replaced. With the exception of temp gauge, speedometer, and heater all equipment and gauges work. I have a new temp. sending unit and speedometer cable that have not been installed. Since the car is for sale locally and advertised in other medium, I reserve the right to cancel the auction at any time. Inspection of the vehicle is highly recommended and must take place prior to submitting a bid. Buyer is responsible for vehicle pick-up or shipping.
