Vehicle Detail

1985 BMW K100RT. The fairing at some time in its life was removed. I purchased this bike from a delaer w/ the intentions of using the front forks for another project bike and using the rest of this K-bike for a sidecar rig conversion. Both of those projects have changed in scope and this bike is no longer needed. The bike does not run. The ignition seems to work. The lights come on when the key is in the 'on' postion. The fuel pump is out and in one of the bags, so that is how the bike probably became parked. The integral bags are damaged. I currently have the Texas Title Application Receipt for the bike. It is dated 01/20/2011. It usually takes 1-2 weeks for the final doc to be received. I expect to have it this week. A title will definitely be with the bike when it is picked up. Ask all questions before bidding. The bike is being sold in 'as is' condition. Happy Bidding! On Jan-30-11 at 14:30:18 PST, seller added the following information: Answer to an ebayer question: >>>..... the bike as pictured is how i received it. it has an aftermarket headlamp, which lights when the ignition is on. i received a standard TX Title Application Receipt. as stated in the auction description, the final standard TX title should now arrive ASAP. it will not be a salvage title. the bike was purchased from a authorized HD dealership that took it in on trade. it probably has not been run for a mayber 1-2 years. it appears to have a new battery installed. they stated the owner said it needs a fuel pump. the old fuel pump is in the left bag. at the dealership we put it in gear and rolled forward to verify the engine was not forzen/locked up. hope that info helps. happy bidding!<<< Also, it shifts up and down through all five gears and it is easy to find neutral. There are not any signs of leaks that drip to the ground after being parked the last several weeks on the center stand. The bike needs a thorough review to get it running again. My plan was to use it for parts if it could not be auctioned for at least the opening bid.On Feb-01-11 at 06:16:52 PST, seller added the following information: I keep receiving repeat questions on this bike for items that have already been answered in the auction's description section. Some additional information on the bike: the wirring seems to be intact, less for the front turn signals. At one time the front headlight wiring was connected to the current HL bucket on the bike. Turn signals did not work when the ign is in the 'on' position. The bike steers, yet it is tight. This bike is ideal for someone that knows the early 'K-bike' series. It can be used for parts or as a fixer-up to get it running. The right integral bag is definitley damaged. The left is not much better. Please bid accordingly and be prepared to make arrangements to transport the bike if you are the winning bidder. ThanksOn Feb-01-11 at 17:43:29 PST, seller added the following information: The valid Texas Certificate of Title was received today. The bike VIN WB1051409F005166X. The last digit has been changed to an 'X' in this auction description for confidentiality.
