1985 BMW K-Series

1985 BMW K100RT. The fairing at some time in its life was removed. I purchased this bike from a delaer w/ the intentions of using the front forks for another project bike and using the rest of this K-bike for a sidecar rig conversion. Both of those projects have changed in scope and this bike is no longer needed. The bike does not run. The ignition seems to work. The lights come on when the key is in the 'on' postion. The fuel pump is out and in one of the bags, so that is how the bike probably became parked. The integral bags are damaged. I currently have the Texas Title Application Receipt for the bike. It is dated 01/20/2011. It usually takes 1-2 weeks for the final doc to be received. I expect to have it this week. A title will definitely be with the bike when it is picked up. Ask all questions before bidding. The bike is being sold in 'as is' condition. There are not any signs of leaks that drip to the ground after being parked the last several weeks on the center stand. The bike needs a thorough review to get it running again. Some additional information on the bike: the wirring seems to be intact, less for the front turn signals. At one time the front headlight wiring was connected to the current HL bucket on the bike. Turn signals did not work when the ign is in the 'on' position. The bike steers, yet it is tight. This bike is ideal for someone that knows the early 'K-bike' series. It can be used for parts or as a fixer-up to get it running. The right integral bag is definitley damaged. The left is not much better.
