The mechanical components all operate exactly as they should. This Coupe is a great 2nd car or great for a beginning driver. First Impression: At first glance this Saturn looks to be a sporty little coupe. Upon closer inspection you will notice all of the upgrades. There are power windows, power door locks, power mirrors and leather interior. Exterior: This 1998 Saturn SC2 Coupe is a nice looking coupe. The body side contouring and moldings give this car a sleek appearance. While this is a 1998 model, the style does not look dated. The makers at Saturn did a great job so this coupe does not look the age it really is. The Dark Green color always looks nice for cars. Any interior will compliment it. Also it is darker without being black. The profile of this Saturn is decorated with body side contouring. This gives an elongated look. The rear view mirrors and door handles are dark green as well. The spoiler ads to the profile, again, adding the sporty feel to this coupe. There are touches of black around the windows. On the driver’s side window, this black has faded and peeled down to the metal. This could be fixed pretty easily but we want to keep the price low. The rear view of this Saturn is actually pretty cool. The rear spoiler looks good. However, there is some clear coat peeling on top of it. The tail lights are stretched across the length of the back with the Saturn badging here. The bumper is painted to match the overall body color with SATURN in the bumper. The trunk can be released with the key fob or from inside the cabin The front of this Coupe has a front license plate bracket. There are fog lights in the black grill Again, you get futuristic contouring here on the lower body. There is some minimal road rash, but not the amount I would expect for a 1998. The bumper is dark green again for continuity throughout the car. This Saturn is riding on a set of p195/60/R15 tires that just passed state inspection with no problems. There are also factory alloy wheels with minimal curb chew, less than I would expect for this coupe. Overall the Exterior is in good condition. While there are some flaws such as very minor dings/scratches, there are all normal and actually fewer than what I would normally see on a car with this age and miles. The paint is surprisingly shiny and lustrous for being a 1998. If you have reasonable expectations, you will be very pleasantly surprised. Interior: The interior of this Saturn is gray leather and dark dash and trim. The upholstery is gray leather. There tons of amenities packed in here and lots of power options at your fingertips. The front seats are multi adjustable bucket style with adjustable headrests and seatbelts. The surfaces are somewhat worn on the driver side. The bolster shows a lot of wear and there is a small tear. The seam on the cushion has also started to come undone. This can easily be fixed with a cute seat cover. The passenger and rear seats shows some wear as well, but not as bad as the driver and consistent with a 1998 vehicle. The doors have the power lock buttons on them in addition to a large cubby for storage. There is a patterns insert here as well for cosmetic appeal. On the floor board to the left of the driver seat are the remote releases for the trunk and the gas cover. The carpeting looks great in this coupe. The matching floor mats show a little wear, however that is what they are supposed to do~protect the carpets. The steering wheel is in very good condition. You have the cruise controls on the wheel and at your fingertips. The gauge panel has all of your standard gauges with an easy to read digital odometer. There are no warning lights on at all in this vehicle (except for the emergency brake light which was being used while the car was on during picture taking). The dark dash color looks really good. No signs of wear or fading from the sun. You will also notice a small storage tray on the top of the dash in this Saturn. The center dash houses the audio and climate control. There are adjustable vents here too. There is an in dash CD player and AM FM tuner. The digital display here makes it easy to control. There are also sound controls here to get the exact sound you want. The climate control is just below. With the cold weather it is difficult to check the AC however, I can tell you the heat is nice and toasty. In between the seats you will find a lighter element great for charging cell phones. More storage cubbies and the manual gear shifter. You also have the power window controls and the power mirror controls here too. There is a cup holder as well. There is also a lighted glove box with the owner’s manual. This Saturn comes with 2 keys and 2 key fobs for keyless entry. Over head you will notice the only downfall to this coupe. The power sunroof. It does not open properly and we have not had it professionally diagnosed. The buttons work and it will move a little however it will not slide open the way it should. We think it may be off track somehow. We have just left it stationary. In order to save money on the sales price we opted not to have this diagnosed or fixed. But again, it does move just not the way it should. The roof does not leak when in the closed position, so it does not require repair at this time. Also the head liner in this Saturn in is rough shape. There are some stains and you can see where the liner has started to come away from the roof. Please see pic. The rear seat in this Saturn holds 2 more adults. The surfaces back here do show some minor wear. There are cup holders in between and a small storage area as well. Both of these back seats flip down. This gives customizable and increased cargo room from the trunk. The trunk can be release from either the key fob or from the latch next to the driver’s seat. It is pretty spacious and houses the spare under neath to save space. Overall, the interior of this Saturn is what I would expect for the year and miles. The wear and tear is all normal and is not excessive nor does it indicate abuse. Except for the roof, all of the power features work great and the car drives very well. If you have reasonable expectations, you will be pleasantly surprised. Under the Hood: This Saturn SC2 has a 124 hp 1.9L I-4 engine that operates just as it should. The clutch feels like it has plenty of life left. The brakes do not pulsate, the steering is smooth. Overall, this Saturn seems to be in very good mechanical condition. There were no issues with state inspection. I would feel confident having a family member or friend drive this car. Driving Impressions: Driving this coupe is actually pretty fun. The manual transmission is easy to use and goes in and out of gear with no problems at all. The seating is comfortable and the radio sounds good. All systems are performing as they should. Even if there is a bank payoff or title, we can facilitate an easy exchange and provide any necessary temporary tags and accompanying paperwork so you can drive away at the time of pick up.
