Vehicle Detail
An Oldie but Goodie California truck with a clean CARFAX! I bought it in 2003 for my youngest son who has since moved away to college. It has only been driven occasionally since 2006. It has a bullet-proof 22RE engine and a 5 speed transmission. The clutch is strong and the tires, front and rear brakes, trans and rear differential fluids were done at 149,244. Even though the mileage didn't warrant it, I have changed the oil every 6 months. It has been lowered 2" but could be easily returned to stock height by removing the lowering blocks from the rear leaf springs and resetting the front torsion bars - no big deal! It has chrome alloy wheels from a Lexus RX300. The chrome is starting to flake a bit but they still look good and they have no curb damage. As you would expect, the paint shows the effects of 20 years of California sun and there are some dents on the cab roof and on the pickup box under the bed liner on the passenger side where the branch of a eucalytus tree made contact during one of our infamous Santa Ana windstorms back in 2008. There is one small crack on the driver's side seat, Other than that, the upholstery and rubber floor covering are in very good condition. All in all, this is a nice old truck that will probably go another 150,000 miles with just a little TLC. The 22RE is torquey and strong, the trans shifts smoothly and there are no oil or coolant leaks. The rear bumper is a genuine Toyota item that was added in 2004 at 146,562 miles. The only mechanical repair that has been done since I have owned it, was the replacement of a noisy speedometer cable in 2004 at 147,895 miles. The original tool set and jack are behind the seat where they are supposed to be. The horn works fine on the Grant steering wheel and the radio and CASSETTE (YIKES - OLD SCHOOL!) are aso fine! I am setting a very reasonable reserve based on the Kelley Blue Book. If you would like additional photos, please provide me with your email address and I will be happy to provide as many as you wish. I try to be as objective as possible in describing the condition of items I place for sale on eBay. Check out my feedback and bid with confidence!
