I'm selling my daily driver 1984 Porsche 944 5-speed, 2.5 litre 4 cyl. that DOES show some of it's age of 27 years in the Florida sun and looooong periods of "storage". I wouldn't hesitate to keep this car as a daily driver, but knowing that it WILL NEED upkeep. I needed a pick-up truck so I'm selling the Porsche. Everything on the car works except at least one gauge light, the alarm system was never tested by me (I don't know how and don't like them for my use anyway), the a/c is the old freon type and works fine (the blower works well also , but Porsche fans aren't the most powerful...) and the passenger window works but clunks while being lowered. It APPEARS that the car is almost 100% original....I put window tint on, a Kenwood stereo, starter motor, two lower suspension bushings and floor mats. Other than that (and new tires sometime in it's past) everything looks original and shows age from the Florida sun and weather...especially the paint!! The paint is complete, no rust, but it's faded everywhere and touched up (sometimes poorly) in several places. The Porsche sunroof works and has NEVER leaked on me! But...the plastic/nylon gear that raises and lowers it could use replacing if you want to use the feature daily. I'm a closed cabin type of driver in the heat of Florida but I used the sunroof about a dozen times to help release heat build up from being parked in the sun for hours. The Interior is in really good shape seat-wise. The drivers seat shows wear of the driver rubbing against the bound edge. The seats are NOT cracked or split. The mats are new. The carpet would really benefit from a total replacement if you were going to dress this car up. A previous owner put a new dash cover in place. It can look stock to most people. Driving these cars is more fun than should be allowed, if you've never done so! The faster you go the more this car flattens out and out handles anything else I've owned. As I said this was my daily driver and as such was serviced as needed and I would schedule replacement of items as they would wear. I was going to put on new tires at some point, more for the AGE of the current set rather than for the wear. And, at the same time, I was going to have an alignment. But for local driving the necessity hadn't yet come up. I DON"T KNOW if the timing belt etc. was ever changed in the car's history, something I would have had inspected during the tire change at my mechanic's shop. There is no issue with performance. After warm up the car has NEVER let me down getting to where I was bound. The brakes also would be checked at tire change. But, as I've said, the car has no issue that presents itself at this time! The car is sold AS IS-WHERE IS! I can HELP make sure your car hauler has an easy time on my end but I CANNOT drive the vehicle for any type of delivery. NO SALES/SHIPPING out of the lower 48 contiguous States!! It is NOT tagged or insured for driving at this time. It's old...like me and will need some service done at some point. It does not leak on my driveway and hold great oil pressure and coolant. For questions on anything I missed, please call Jim 352-293-5139. I may do a partial trade for self-defense items.
