Vehicle Detail

Up for auction is this 1970 Dodge Challenger T/A. It was ordered as a very stripped down car (radio delete, dog dish, standard dash, etc) car. Which screams that it was destined to go directly to the track- which this one undoubtedly did. It thankfully, was ordered in high impact FJ5 Sublime green, with a black bucket interior. This T/A has probably been raced since new. It seems as though the little 340 Six Pack was not fast enough (or blew up) and over time, it has been tubbed, caged, frames tied etc. and at one point had a hemi with a high rise in it. The T/A came from Alabama, and therefore does not have the usual rust found in MN cars. It has nice original fenders, doors, and retains it's original T/A hood, as well as the duck tail spoiler. The floors and trunk are original sheet metal, but have been cut up over the years for the tubs. The quarters are original as well- but have been radiased for the huge drag slicks. I'm selling it with a nice paint job, but no motor or transmission, but does have a narrowed Dana 60 with 4:56 gears. A previous owner also added a four link style traction set up, and it has Weld Drag light wheels on it as well. A person with an extra motor and tranny could have this car on the track racing, or on the street as a nasty Pro Touring car by spring. I have the original Build Sheet for this car which I received from Barry Washington after I bought the car, and the break down of what the fender tags should look like- I do not have the original tags. The VIN# matches the original door tag as well as the cowl and core support. The cage would likely need to be updated to meet current race specs, but I don't think it would take much. The glass and trim are nice, and I put a new AMD trunk lid on as well. I have a nearly complete, but not #'s matching T/A motor- air cleaner to oil pan, and 974 radiator- less valve covers and a few minor parts, that could be bought by the winning bidder separately. This could be a sweet drag car, or Pro Touring T/A with some parts and work, but how many people can even drive the T/A's they've turned into trailer queens? This would be a blast once it's back on the track or street. Any questions? Feel free to contact me- kallen@fnbmilaca.com
