For Sale: 1988 Dodge W100 4x4 Short Bed pickup, 318 V8 & A727 Three speed auto transmission. I need to sell this truck as I am in college along with my two kids. We need the money for shcool. I have owned the truck since October. The truck is a 3 speed auto with the rugged A727 that was rebuilt about 20,000 miles ago. It shifts perfectly. For a 1988 Truck this thing is in great shape. The cab and entire front are rust free! the pictures show the cab mounts and rocker panels. The interior is in really god shape as you can see in the pictures. The bed had some rust through the tops of the wheel wells and the bottom edge is still intact. Inside the bed on the tops of the wheel wells it had holes rusting through. The floor of the bed is rust free (see pictures of bed floor from underneath). * I have repaired the rust on the outer and inner wheel wells, I primed and painted the body to stop further rusting. * On the inside of the bed I sanded it all down, primed it and then coated it with the herculiner tough bed coating. It took 1 1/2 gallons. * Under the truck I wire brushed and ground all the flaking rust off the frame and then coated it with SEM rust preventer paint, it is an epoxy coating that bonds to rusty metal and stops rust on the frame. * I replaced the electric fuel pump. The gas tank has already been replaced with a 22 gallon plastic tank. * I have replaced all the brake lines from front to rear including flexible lines to the wheels. * I replaced the rear wheel cylinders, brake shoes, drums and the entire parking/emergency brake cable system. * I replaced both rear axle seals, drained, flushed and refilled the rearend. * I replaced the transfer case output pinion shaft seal, the front axle shaft seals and pinion seal. I replaced the u-joint in front drive shaft. * UPDATE: The rear transfer case pinion seal is leaking and should be replaced, this is a $5-7 item. * I flushed the front axle and transfer case and refilled them. The automatic transmission I drained and replaced the filter and fluid * I turned the front rotors and installed new disc pads. * The front end is very tight, The truck passed inspection with no problems. tie rod ends and ball joints are in very good shape. I greased everything. * I replaced the leaking radiator with an oversized Ramcharger model tha holds an extra gallon. The truck runs cooler. Hoses are almost new. The Belts are also very new. * The previous owner replaced the transmission 20,000 miles ago, He also replaced the starter and alternator. * I installed a good stereo, CD, mp3 aux in and USB charger on it. Pioneer speakers. I also installed a summit tachometer. * Heater hoses are good and the truck has good heat. * The truck has white wagon wheel rims with B.F. Goodrich Radial AT XO tires mounted, 31x10.5x15's. The rear tires have 75% left and the fronts are about 50% * Gas gauge works sometimes, I priced out sending units and will provide sources priced from $25-60 The exhaust is in very good condition. It is a custom dual exhaust with two catalytic converters and two mufflers. I have had very good luck with my truck and will miss it. They wanted it for their business to show off. It is not perfect just very solid and mostly rust free. If you are looking for a truck to make into a show truck then this one is definitely good to restore as everything except the bed is in good shape. It has dings and would need cosmetic body work to make it look like new. If your looking for a truck to fix up on your own it would be good for that.
