Vehicle Detail

Ive had this vehicle for a little less than a year, and just have too many cars than I really need to. I have put very little miles on this since I purchased it. This Grand Wagoneer is a 1984, Red with a Tan interior. Its very solid for its age, just some slight surface rust in a few places, but no rust through on the rockers or other areas that these things normally have (I had an 88 GW years ago, and it was incredibly rusty compared to this one). Interior is in amazing condition for its age, no rips on the seats or anything else. Headliner had been replaced previously, and looks great. Has aftermarket speakers and a Jensen Heavy Duty CD player (which has a NOAA weather radio built in). Sounds great. The vehicle has about 113,000 original miles on it, and runs great. It has a new battery (Sears Platinum), new alternator (Powermaster 140 amp), new edelbrock 1406 carb, edelbrock 2131 intake manifold, GM HEI distributor, and new plug wires. This vehicle has been desmogged, and all vacuum lines have been replaced. Also has a new AC compressor, drier, expansion valve, and hoses. The paint on the vehicle has seen better days, and is faded in parts (like the hood), and looks to have had the drivers rear quarter panel repainted at some point before. The vehicle has also had a partial rewiring of the engine and dash harness done. The fog lights were not hooked up in the rewiring (but it has plenty of open spots on the fuse block for them to be wired up, and original wiring for the foglights and switch are there). Also, the dash clock is not hooked up either. All other electrical components work great (including the rear window, which is slow with the key in the back, but works great from the dash). All windows, door locks, seats work as they should. Overhead lights work (which is rare on these older jeeps), headlights, turn signals, reverse, all work. The only two electrical problems that I know of are the horn does not work (I think this is a grounding issue in the steering column, but haven't removed it to check) and the fuel gauge works sometimes, and not other times. The vehicle starts right up and runs great. Brakes, shocks, steering components could use some TLC eventually. I do have a S10 4x4 steering box that I was going to upgrade this vehicle with, but have not had the chance to (its mostly just a drop in application). Also, tires are new (probably less than 1000 miles). Engine is V8 360. 4WD engages and works. Overall, this vehicle has been great in the little time i've owned it. You will be hard pressed to find another one with so little rust at this age, especially with such a great interior. There are some TLC items this car would need, but a lot of work has been done and would be a solid daily driver or fix the few things wrong, repaint it, and have a great classic truck. I wish I could keep it, but I just have too many cars as it is. I will help arrange shipping (at buyers cost) if you are not in the area to pick it up. I have not driven the vehicle more than 60 miles away from home (it has antique plates, and limited in how much its used). I do think this should make a long trip, but have never done it... just FYI, again, this is a 27 year old car. I have tried to disclose everything I know of importance with the truck, but there may be items I am unaware of. On Jan-17-11 at 09:58:34 PST, seller added the following information: Additionally, this vehicle leaks very little fluid. There is some transmission fluid that does leak, but since i've had it, i've only had to top it off with about 1/3 a quart. Leaks very little oil also, about the same as the trans or maybe a little less. Vehicle is sold as-is.. do not think this is a restored or new vehicle.. its 27 years old.. and its great condition FOR ITS AGE.. and I believe it's a solid vehicle for anyone who wants something to tinker around with. If you have questions or want pictures of anything in particular taken, let me know. I've started this at a good price, since i've probably put in $1500-2000 since ive had it.
