Vehicle Detail

This is a very straight 1937 Packard 115c, black, 4 door sedan. This is the first year Packard offered a six cylinder car since the early 20's. It has the beautiful Packard grill that is un-mistakable. Car shows no signs of any mayor body work being done and appears to have been repainted about 20 years ago. No rust!! The laquer paint still has a beautiful shine and has very minor crazing and chips. The car doors open and shut very soundly and do not sag.The odometer show 99380, which I believe is correct. I had the rear bumper and front and rear bumper guards re-chromed recently. The grill's chrome, and most other chrome, is excellent. One trunk hinge has minor chrome pitting. The trunk is clean and appears to have the original jack and spare. The engine runs smoothly with 30 lbs oil pressure and correct operating temperature. The transmission and differiencal are quiet, and the clutch works well. The charging system works, and most of the car's wiring has been replaced. The dash is in nice shape, and all gages and speedometer work. The car's heater, defroster, and clock all work. The glass appears to be good, except for a small crack in rear left side vent window. A new SMS headliner, visors and wind-rows around all the doors were recently installed. The rear seat was also recovered with period correct fabric. The front seat and door panels are in good condition and original. New front and rear carpets were also installed. The steering wheel is the optional banjo design. The running boards were re-done, as was the roof insert, when the car was repainted. The tires look good, with no visible cracking. They are bias belt and will flat spot after sitting in the same spot for awhile. The king pins have some noticable wear. The brakes were replaced and stop straight. The tag on the firewall shows the car sold new in Hartford CT on 12/15/36. The State of Connecticut does not issue titles on cars over 10 years old, so this car will be sold on a bill of sale only.
