Vehicle Detail
This custom 1969 Ford Mustang Convertible was professionally built and finished in 2008. This Pro-Touring Pony has only 1,000 miles on it since completion and won the Good-Guys “Eagle One Excellent Choice Award” at its first and only show as a completed vehicle. It started life and is titled as a 1970 Mustang. Every single exterior panel has been replaced or reworked. The front received ‘69 sheet metal and trim. The rear has undergone a complete “Fastback” makeover. Fastback quarters, quarter extensions and deck lid were all grafted into the convertible body before receiving several coats of “Jet Black” paint. The hood and tail section got a splash of “Hot Rod Black” for accents. The door handles have been shaven and have remote door openers. The convertible top was custom stitched in Black Hartz Denim fabric and all the bows were painted satin black. No detail was left untouched. Ring Bro’s hardware was used throughout the engine bay as well as Ring Bro’s Billet hood hinges. A custom front valance was fabricated to cover the front radiator area and all new trim, bumpers, weather-stripping, stainless fasteners, etc were installed. G-Machine status is achieved by a completely new suspension consisting of Total Control Products G-Street upper and lower control arms and Air Ride Shockwaves up front. In the rear a Heidts 4 link w/ panhard bar controls a 1994 Mustang Cobra 8.8 rear end while Cool Ride Air Bags offer adjustability in dampening the ride. Custom Orange Painted Wilwood 4 piston calipers and 12.19” Drilled and Slotted Rotors are found at all 4 corners. Wheels are Boze ZE Forged “Shifter” – sizes are 17x8 front, 18x9 rear and have been painted “Hot Rod Black” to match the stripes. The undercarriage has been strengthened via Global West sub-frame connectors before being cleaned and undercoated in stain black. The drive train consists of a Custom Orange Painted 1993 Cobra EFI mill wearing a Paxton Novi 1000 Supercharger delivering 5.5psi of boost. A custom ground Comp Cam helps achieve a mild 285hp to the rear wheels (dyno proven). The engine is estimated to make 365 at the crank. The AOD trans ensures low cruising RPM’s. Doug Thorley Headers are mated to a pair of MagnaFlow mufflers. The interior is completely custom made to resemble the subtle design of a newer 2009 mustang. Custom door panels were sculpted and wear black leatherette and suede and power windows were installed. The seats are low back buckets from a 67 Mustang and are wrapped in leatherette and suede as well. The dash was reworked, smoothed and house custom one-off Custom Orange Painted gauges from Classic Instruments. The trunk is upholstered to match. A Sony CD/Bluetooth head unit, 4 MB Quartz speakers, 1000 watt amp and (2) 10” Subwoofers complete to interior. The car is for sale because the owner has a new project underway and is consolidating his collection. The car has only 1000 miles on it and has been to only one car show as a completed vehicle. The car is very detailed and meticulously designed.
