This is a 1971 Monte Carlo that I saved from being crushed. It is really a cool old car. It has a 350 engine and a 350 turbo transmission. It appears to be the original engine and maybe even the original tranny too. It has the 2 barrel carb on it. It appears to be the original paint. It was originally a white vinyl top car, but the top has been peeled off. It has some dents and rust, but it would make a great project for someone. It has lots of new parts. This car starts right up, but it does need spark plugs and the timing re-set. The prevous owner installed a fuel cell under the trunk, but this auction also includes the orignal fuel tank so you get both. It was originally a bucket seat car with a console, but they are both long gone. The car can still be shifted by the steering column. The current black buckets look like maybe gran prix seats. They are very comfortable. The wheels are Centerline Brand Champion 500's that are 16's. This car would make a great father-son project. It has a new starter, new master cylinder and several other new parts. It would need for a rear brake hose to be replaced and the brakes to be bleed before it could be driven. I have pulled the car up and down my driveway so I can tell you it does go forward and backward. The passenger floorboard is nice, the drivers side has had some sheet metal installed to fix a spot. the patchwork looks pretty good. The trunk has a decent size rust hole in it, and of course a hole where the fuel cell lid is. The drivers qtr is in decent shape, the pass side QTR needs some love, both front fender need some love, but both are very fixable.
