This vehicle started life as a red 289 4 speed but the professional modifications made by the previous owner were many!
It received a 5.0 liter 302 engine from a 1992 Mustang which was modified extensively … some of the engine improvements were:
- EEC 1V electronic fuel injection
- Powerdyne centrifugal supercharger capable of 9 pounds of boost
- Custom built adjustable nitrous oxide system with purge valve and 10 pound bottle
- NOS remote bottle opener
- Forged pistons with Total Seal rings
- HV Melling oil pump
- Blueprinted head E7TE fully ported and Extrude Hone with back cut valves
- Ford Motorsport B303 hydraulic roller cam
- Fel Pro Loc wire head gaskets with receiver grooves
- Crane roller rocker arms
- GT40 intake with Extrude Hone lower 65mm throttle body and 70mm mass air sensor
- K&N air filter
- MSD 6AL ignition and MSD boost timing retard
- Headman long tube headers with a custom exhaust and Flowmasters
The 4 speed transmission was replaced with a custom built automatic overdrive transmission with a Hughes 2100 stall converter with 3rd and overdrive lock up. It has a 9 inch posi rear end and 389 Ford Motorsport gears. The original (non functional) clutch pedal is still in place.
Other modifications were a trunk mounted battery with cut off switch, Stainless Steel brand disc brake conversion, springs, shocks (air shocks in rear), traction bars and aftermarket gauges (boost, tach, water temp., oil press.). The car is air conditioned too!
We acquired this vehicle in 2007 and repainted it about a year ago in the classic white with blue racing stripes. The wheels are in nice shape and the tires are almost new. The interior is clean - the dash and door panels all look good and may have been replaced by the previous owner. The carpet is showing some signs of age and the antenna needs replacing.
The car has a clean title which is showing the odometer as 37,874 miles (actual). It has only seen about 2,500 miles since the conversion.
