1959 MGA 1600 was purchased in 2006 from a private seller. Seller was a retired college professor who stated he drove the car to work on occassion and kept car in garage. He was the second owner of this vehicle and had owned it for over 30 years. He stated that the 28000 miles are accurate, but I have no way of verifying. The car was running when it went to the body shop back in 2006. I did not drive it due to brake issues. The body shop part timed on the car when they were slow and has new paint all the way around. PPG matched to original color. This car had minimal surface rust and no major body parts needed replaced. New piping was installed between fenders. The wood in floorboards were solid, as was the frame. they felt a total frame off restoration wasnt needed. Fenders, doors, dash etc were all removed, undercoated painted and reinstalled. Since the car has sat for the last 4.5 years I didnt want to try to start it and run bad gas through. My next course of action was to replace carpet, Recover the top frame, door panels and seats. The car will need brakes, and I was going to replace all fluid lines and clean gas tank out before attempting to start again. As far as minor body parts, needs a 20.00 chrome vent on hood, door pull on drivers side door, bumpers are complete but would probably rechrome or replace. The side curtains were in their storage covers and were in nice condition if memory serves. The previous owner included some tools and some type of manual.
