Vehicle Detail

Listed here are two 1972 280's. Both are 2.8L gasoline engines. The yellow one is drivable, runs great, and has a recent inspection. I had electronic ignition installed for reliability and have a very long list of the repairs that were done during my ownership including: brake work, valve adjustment, carburetor rebuilt, front end rebuilt, drive shaft rebuilt, front and rear windshield gaskets. It does have an exhaust leak now, but I haven't had time to take it in and see what and where it is leaking, I drive it anyway as it is not bad. The dual overhead cam engine makes this car feel quick, and it handles well for its time. This car has never burned a drop of oil, and at oil change time the oil still looks mostly golden. The blue one could be made drivable, but the engine is not running at this time. The body of the blue one is in nearly perfect shape, (I was thinking that one could swap the motors and have a very fine Mercedes.) The blue one has power windows as well, while the yellow one does not. The yellow Mercedes has rust in and around the trunk, the bottom of the doors, and some in the front floor pans and trunk. The Blue one has only one bad spot of rust, which I took a picture of, in the front passenger wheel well. If you look at the pictures you can see that the body in general, and under carriage is in great shape. The paint on the blue one is fair, it has been repainted at some point. The paint on the yellow one is shot, clear coat peeling and paint cracking every where. I don't think there are any dents in the blue one. There are several dents in the yellow one. They are very complete cars and would make an easy restoration, or just drive the yellow one and have a parts car. Either way a good deal!
