Vehicle Detail

1965 Mustang 2 + 2 Fastback International buyer didn't pay, relisted With No Reserve. Color: Custom Candy Apple Red /Black Interior 289 V8 4 BBL Dual Exhaust Rebuilt Carb - Strong Engine! No Bondo! Solid metal car! This is a great car,and worth owning. Mileage on dash: 41,259. I have not owned this car its' entire life, this may or may not be actual miles. I did not alter the instrument cluster by removing the mileage indicator. Very hard to find in this condition! NO BONDO! Paint is V. Good, with some small bubbling near the lower area of the passenger door, driver's door, (small areas) above back window there is small areas of poor paint work, small areas near trunk lid are bubbling slightly. This is minor and only on the surface. See Photos. A lot of the parts are original FoMoCo. The car did not need a lot of restoration when I bought it. I also bought it knowing it had zero bondo, and was solid. The car is still solid, and I hardly drove the car. It was garage kept most of the time. I own other Mustangs and drove them more, and put this one away. Comes complete with some spare parts: Brand New Red Pony Interior ALL SEAT COVERS,front and back. Also Red Dash Pad, and everything is like brand new shape and ready to install. The seat covers are new, pliable and were kept in boxes. It's just missing the carpet to finish this add on. I also have the original black dashpad. There also might be some other parts I can throw in with this deal,I have a few more things to find yet. Chrome is Very Good + 99 1/2% there, some slight pieces missing in the interior. This is easy to order from catalogs. I have one or two chrome parts in the back seat. You will see it in the photos. It has the original black pony interior. Interior needs to be finished,it needs the gauge cluster replaced, it work fine, but it isn't as pretty as a new one. The dash works fine, otherwise, the dash is uncut! I would replace the carpet, it has some sun damage, some parts are faded. They have catalogs with carpet that slides right in and fits perfectly. And it's not that expensive, either (around 100 dollars) This car only needs some slight restoration, and really anyone could do this, it's not major hard stuff to repair or make perfect. Even a novice could restore this car, with some books and catalogs, and glancing at online Mustang Car websites for help. This is an easy car to restore or customize it,or repair or play around with. The body is very good, the car runs and drives really well, and I always get people asking me to sell them the car, anytime I drive it around. I also get a lot of people trying to open the hood, and check out the engine while I'm not there,so I installed a plastic coated chain to cut down on people trying to life the hood and take a look. This is very annoying, but I left the plastic coated chain on. It's easy to remove,as it's just added into the hood screw bolts. Otherwise the car is basically all correct, with good quality parts. Tires are Very Good + with great rims (styled steel wheels) I noticed one wheel was missing a center cap. This is also easy to find in catalogs. It's only for show. The tread on the tires is deep on all 4 and they have very little miles on them. As I said this car, wasbought to keep and I just stored it in a garage, and did mild upgrades on it.(tires, rims, some chrome pieces here and there, etc.) About the engine: It's original to the car when I purchased it, I never had to replace anything. Other than a battery, normal tune up things, spark plugs, spark plug wires, etc. Engine compartment has an export brace added, the engine doesn't leak oil, runs great! Carb works really great,no need to tune or play with! The glass: Glass is very good, no cracks, no major issues, maybe replace the weatherstrip around the doors, for a tighter fit. I had to do this on another Mustang I owned every 5-10 years just to make sure it was air tight. The trunk lid has weatherstrip issues, the trunk seals tight, but the weatherstrip sticks out a tiny bit. I would replace the single master cylinder brakes with a dual. Not absolutely needed,as the brakes work fine, but it would be a very good upgrade. I never got around to it,even though it is easy to do. There are kits in catalogs to do it,and it's really not that expensive. you can also install front disc brakes, as the catalogs have that too. And it bolts right in. That's what I like about these Mustangs, easy to repair and get parts. The car does not overheat, the car runs even and strong & smooth. It has a dual exhaust and sounds really powerful. It's a beautiful car. I would replace: gauge cluster(it's old and ugly) ,the interior carpet, seat covers maybe, new glove box and hinge, trunk weather strip is loose in a spot, door panels(inside). Otherwise the electrical system works perfectly. Never had a problem with that. It basically just has some cosmetic issues. Some slight paint issues. The car starts, runs, drives very well. It's a strong car, just needs some minor work to be perfect. I think this is an easy restore, and just about anyone could do this that has already some minor car repair/restore knowledge. As you know, these cars are very popular, and have parts catalogs and a lot of things are easy to replace with original FoMoCo parts. A lot of things are simple bolt on repairs, and the great thing is that there are a lot of Mustang parts catalogs with 99 percent of the parts available. I am also selling this car locally, so I reserve the right to end the auction whenever I think. There is no warranty on this car. It is being sold "As Is". If you have some questions, please ask, this is the BEST WAY to clear up any issues you may have. If you live nearby, and want to view the car,you can come and look at it in person. I actually prefer you to look at it in person. Any online questions? Please ask early in the auction,so I can answer and also quickly send you any photos that might answer your questions better before the auction ends. I have several more photos I could not post due to ebay's restrictions. I will assist the buyer with information on local flatbed towing rentals, and /or help you get it onto a flatbed trailer. Buyer must put on hold or rent this trailer by yourself. Buyer can also pay a car hauling/flat bed service. But this is your option, and it's your job to figure this out. No International bidders. Thanks for looking! I want to add more information about this car,I've had a lot of questions pertaining to these subjects: The VIN Number has some nice clues in it: It's a 1965 ORIGINAL FASTBACK with a Deluxe Pony Interior in it. The door tag number says that, and it's got the deluxe black pony interior in it right now. I'm including a Deluxe Red Pony Interior parts with the auction. To keep that part original. The Carb is a 4 barrel Autolite 4100. Which is the best type of carb out there for these cars. I don't like the Holley Carbs, they are undependable, and hard to adjust. The car runs great with this! It is a Model 63 B Fastback Luxury Interior. There were 5,776 Model 63 B Type Mustangs produced out of a total production of 559,451 Mustangs made in 1965. So this is a hard to find car! Since it's only a total of 1% produced. This is not a typical easy to find Mustang. In the engine compartment: It has headers with an Edelbrock Torker Intake Manifold, and also an Edelbrock Water Pump. These are not original parts to the Mustang ,but what a lot of people do to a car to make it run better and faster, like a modification,it's not hard to bring it back to original. This is purely a personal thing to do. It actually runs much better with these modifications to it. It was a rebuilt for speed type of car. I hope this clears up any questions you have.
